So this young striker we've loaned with an option to buy.

How does that work? Have we agreed a price to buy already if we choose to at the end of his loan? Or do they decide a price if we want to buy him? If it's the latter. What's to stop PSG pricing him out our range?

If anyone could clear up. Cheers!
We've agreed a price, therefore if we like him and bid the £8M or whatever it is PSG have to accept.

It's not as good as it sounds though because if he looks that good that we're happy to pay £8M for him you can bet EPL clubs will be all over him, cos that's chump change to them. PSG are perfectly entitled to accept bids from elsewhere and the player is under no obligation to sign for us even if we activate the clause. If he looks good I'd get him bought asap before he attracts too much attention from down south.

I imagine that the player has agreed to the option to buy otherwise it's unenforceable.

Welcome to Celtic.
Know nothing about this guy, never heard of him nor seen him play.
Hopefully he is very successful though, and fits in well.
Looking forward to seeing what he has to offer.

Different scenario. He was free to sign for anyone at the end of his loan with us as it was the end of his contract at Man City.

Not sure were he's going to fit in? We can't exactly drop Griffiths at the moment and lets face is Dembele is our main man when he is fit.

Looks to me like a squad player

Which is exactly what we need

This looks an amazing deal. Exactly the type of player youd expect to flourish under Brendan.

Yeah I always thought an option to buy was basically a first refusal on getting the player for that price, so nobody can outbid us in that sense.

However if they player thinks they can do better elsewhere can they not just 'fail' to agree personal terms and jump ship?

He was also an arrogant arsehole. The Swedish equivalent of Bendtner.

Cracking record at youth level

big step up to senior level though but at least he has had some experience of the French top league although not a great goal record.

Once Moussa is fit and if Leigh stays fit it will be interesting to see how much game time he gets as a centre forward if Brendan sticks to his tried and tested one up front.

Lets hope he does the business.

Can expect him to get 15-20 minutes most weeks after Griffiths picks up his obligatory double
