He flew back to Glasgow from London tonight. Bro in Law was on his flight. Edouard, plus 3 others. Overheard them conversing in English, thought it sounded like they were discussing contracts.. BiL was under the impression one of the other french guys was another player and that at least one of them was his agent.

Just passing on what he saw/heard. Don't go tonto now
https://twitter.com/stants1902/status/1007386493030162433
My BiL didn't take that, but was was walking behind when they disembarked. Was telling me they were def discussing contracts - whatever that means. He said he thought one of his party - french black guy -pointy beard - was another footballer, as he was discussing contract terms with Edouard's agent. The 4th bloke was Edourd's mate.

Just passing on what I was told, ok?

RTC didn’t break the story, just did all of the excellent follow-up work.

As to RTC’s identity, eff knows. :suspect:
I think I read a hun conspiracy theory that Stuart Cosgrove was RTC.
I don't know about that but I can tell you that all the HMRC paperwork on the EBT stuff was signed off with a St Johnstone pen (and a smile).

Odsonne Edouard is poised to shatter Celtic's transfer record in a deal worth £9million.

The French striker will complete a permanent move to Glasgow after the Parkhead club agreed a fee with Paris St Germain.

Given a deadline of Friday to exercise an option on the 20-year-old, the Scottish champions could pay £6.5m up front with the potential for another £2.2m in add-ons.

The highest transfer fee paid by a Scottish club since Rangers signed Tore Andre Flo from Chelsea for £12m in November 2000, the Odsonne deal will shatter the previous Celtic club record of £6m fees paid for Chris Sutton, John Hartson and Neil Lennon, respectively.

Odsonne spent last season on loan at Parkhead, scoring 11 goals - including a double in the 5-0 rout of Rangers which secured a seventh straight title.

Speaking after the young forward scored the winner in a 3-2 win at Ibrox in March, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers said: 'He is one of the best young players I have worked with - his movement, his touch, his all-round play.'

PSG need to sell £53m worth of players by the end of June to comply with UEFA financial fair play (FFP) 'break even' regulations.

Odsonne's arrival will inevitably trigger fresh speculation over the future of Moussa Dembele, a £20m target for Brighton in January.

Celtic sources, meanwhile, have dismissed talk of a move for free agent midfielder Sean Clare.

Delighted with this. Can play up front or on the left when we're on the frontfoot.

Being greedy I'd love another winger but we get a right back and centre half to go straight into the starting line up then it'll have been an excellent summer.

Aye Forrest has progressed so far that a new winger likely wouldn’t displace him as first choice anyway. Still hopeful we get one though as Johnston is our only real backup

IF, French Eddy is bringing another player with him, or rather, his agent is bringing another of his clients, I hope he’s a right back with the strength of Bobo, the speed of Agathe, and the ability of Danny McGrain. Job done.

Odsonne Edouard will complete a permanent move to Scottish champions Celtic on Friday.

The striker, who spent last season on loan at Celtic from French giants Paris Saint-Germain, had his medical checks with the Scottish side on Thursday as a switch edged ever closer.

Edouard was desperate to stay at Celtic following his loan and has agreed a four-year contract with the Parkhead club.

According to French radio station RMC, the hitman will cost Celtic a fee of €10m to sign from PSG.

There are no bonuses built into the deal, however it is suggested that PSG should bank a percentage of any future sale fee.

Edouard made 22 appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic last season and scored an impressive nine goals.

The striker, who has never made a senior appearance for PSG, had a contract at the Parc des Princes which had another two years left to run.

I read somewhere a headline that said PSG have to sell €60m worth by end of the month to make fair play guidelines
Is this true?
Does it work in Celtics favour to force the sale or does it push the price up?

Good stuff, hopefully keep Dembele for another year, or till January at least.

Right back and centre back now please, so glaringly obvious these two positions need sorted.
Add to that good back-up for Tierney and we will have strengthened very significantly.
Is Calvin Miller not good enough backup? Really hoping he can make the breakthrough this season.

Have you seen him play ?

It's a lot of money but it's also an investment. We already know he's quality and the liklihood is we'll get every penny of it back then some.

Probably means Dembele's going. Though it's hard to say with the EPL transfer window closing earlier now. We might keep him for the qualifiers and punt him in January instead, but by that time we're getting into the perilous 18-months-left-on-deal situation where you really have to sell immediately or values plumit.

Expecting to wake up to the news that the white smoke appeared over Parkhead

It's a lot of money, but what else should we be spending it on if not quality playing staff?

(Not to mention proven hunkskelpers.)

Nothing wrong with having Mike Johston as back-up. Great prospect imo.
