Every French sports site I've seen have the fee as 11 million?
Saw that too. That’ll be in euros and including add ons.

I don’t think we’ll activate the clause if it’s something like 8m-11m. I think we’ll wait it out banking on the opinion no other team will go for him at that price.

I like the boy very much. 11m is incredibly steep for him.

( If indeed that is the cost which I doubt )

Brendan is already on record saying the fee is lower than reported.

Probably be about 6-6.5m with add ons.

I can't see the fee being €11m. PSG may be inflating the reported fee for their own purposes. Wouldn't put it past the sods. :brickwall:

Nope, he indicated to the press it was higher.

Edit: not to say I don’t agree with what you think is the upfront fee. I assume Brendan when he indicated it was higher was including all the addons.

I'd rather we spent 11m on two or three quality players to be honest.

Celtic are on the brink of smashing their club record fee to sign Odssone Edouard on a permanent deal.

Record Sport understands an agreement moved closer on Wednesday after the latest round of talks involving the 20-year-old’s representatives and his parent club Paris Saint-Germain.

And Parkhead chief executive Peter Lawwell is now more confident than ever of landing his man ahead of Saturday’s deadline, when a host of other interested clubs would be able to enter the bidding.

It’s understood the French striker has told PSG he sees his future in Glasgow, developing under Brendan Rodgers and is not holding out to consider rival offers.

That has left Celtic in the driving seat as the clock ticks down to the June 16 trigger and Lawwell hopes to have a deal concluded before close of play on Friday.

The size of the final fee is still unclear but it is expected to dwarf the £6million Martin O’Neill splashed out on two separate deals for Chris Sutton and John Hartson almost two decades ago.

The length of Edouard’s Celtic contract is also still to be thrashed out but it’s expected the club will want to tie him up on a bumper five-year deal.

The future of Stuart Armstrong, however, looks certain to be away from Celtic Park after the Scotland midfielder confirmed he hopes to clinch a summer move to England.

It’s understood a number of top flight clubs, headed by Southampton, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Fulham have made initial enquiries as they mull over moves for the 26-year-old.

Just looked back - he just said it wasn't the reported 7m fee. He didn't indicate it being lower or higher

11m doesn’t get you 2 or 3 quality players anymore. Look at ntcham, with add on his deal comes to around 6m.

CELTIC are about to announce that they have competed the deal with Paris Saint Germain to sign striker Odsonne Edouard on a permanent contract. The player impressed while at the Scottish Champions last term in his season long loan.

Celtic had an option to buy the player which is valid until the end of this week and Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell has now concluded the deal with the French side which will see the player join Celtic – and be given the famous Number 7 jersey.

The agreement reached last summer with PSG was believed to involve a transfer fee of £7m but Brendnan Rodgers later denied that the figure was that much. However with various add ons for Champions League Qualification and a sell-on clause very likely to be part of the deal, it is fair and reasonable to believe PSG could earn around £10million from this transfer.

So it is no longer a question of IF but WHEN the signing will be announced and it is likely to happen in the next day or so.

you wont get 3 quality players for 3m, transfer fees have increased over the past year. 11m is a lot for us but it isnt a lot for a player of edouards quality.
