Celtic are on track for another fantastic season but league form has definitely regressed. Fatigue and volume of injuries? Not exactly. Here’s why.

I showed in the last article how injuries to the most creative players simultaneously, rather than volume of injuries, is hampering Celtic’s league form. Roberts has missed more than anyone. What impact does his absence have on performance?

The Dembele saga rumbles on. It has been a stop-start season for him, but he remains vital to the squad. Whatever the future holds, now doesn’t seem the time to go.

Injuries have impacted Celtic's creative abilities more than any other area. Here's how. And what can be done to mitigate this?

Thank you for this first class analysis.
A few of the myopic posters on the other threads should have a read of your excellent work.
Keep up the good work.

Edouard is approaching 10 games worth of match time and some of his numbers look impressive. A look at shot effectiveness.

Just been taking a closer look at the league table;

We've only won 2 more games than Aberdeen this season.

We've only scored 11 and 6 more goals respectively than Aberdeen and the Huns.

Hearts have only lost 7 games in 26 (not bad).

Just hadn't noticed these things before.

Forrest leads the way for the attacking midfielders.

What do you class Sinclair as? A forward? I'd have thought he'd be in the same bracket as forrest.
Genuine question.

Good read as always thanks.
The numbers here stack up well for Edouard, his movement is also good & his hold up play should improve too.
I'd like to keep him, but can't see £7m.

http://celticbynumberscom.ipage.com/the-problem-position/

Since Van Dijk and Denayer appeared together 37 times in 2014/15 no Celtic centre back pairing has completed more than 15 games together in a season. With Celtic conceding a goal a game, the worst since Mowbray, this is the problem position. But there is hope!

I’d call Sinclair an inside forward but showing my age !

Celtic scored 29 times from outside the box last season. Many were game changing goals. This season it is only 10, and a key weapon in Celtic’s attacking arsenal appears blunted.

Despite conceding only 3 in 10 league games, defensive criticism is never far away. A look at Lustig and Simunovic's defensive numbers. Can their performances be defended?

With 10 corners failing to yield a goal against Greenock Morton, are Celtic effective utilising these opportunities?

Zenit’s early opener from Ivanovic was the latest example of Celtic conceding a goal from a corner in a big game. I looked at corner goal conversion yesterday. Today the case for the defence.
