He'll be playing alongside Boyata or Simunovic eventually, both of whom are over six feet. I don't think his height is a major issue. As others have said, he'll have been signed because he can use the ball well. If he was good on the ball and 6'5" he'd likely have been snapped up by wealthier teams already.

Super excited by that. A proper ball playing centre half. And that's before Brendan gets working with him
Only YouTube highlights but he looks very comfortable on the ball, can spot a pass and it seems he's got two great feet. Hopefully he's the real deal.

Most importantly, Great name. One for the future who should be more than adequate for domestic football already. 750k is a good price for someone, very highly rated.
This type of signing has worked out in the past so here's hoping
Where did you hear £750k?...

People pointing out his lack of height which is fair comment. I would have liked him a couple of inches taller, but he seems to have everything else so if he was taller we probably wouldn't have got him.
There’s plenty of us who’d have liked an extra couple of inches . . . :(

Big fan of Coatzee. Thought Disgrace was a smashing book that unflinchingly explored post-Apartheid racial tensions in South Africa, hopefully we see some of that nuanced vision and terse, uncompromising style on the park.
 (but :nono: at the spelling ;) ).

Pleased with this, even though I know nothing about this lad. Trusting in Brendan, it's all good.

Am i the only one who thinks he looks a bit shampooey? I an a hopeless judge of a player, so i hope that my record of, bangura = good Petrov = Rubbish holds up and this bhoy becomes a legend. But A) he looks too wee B) he looks slow and C) Hes not the expensive ready made player i was hoping we would sign.
Some of the greatest centre halfs of all time were "wee", he doesn't look slow at all and we're not going to sign an expensive ready-made centre half as we don't need one
The key words there are GOAT. That's a bit of a benchmark.

If he turns out to be the next Bobby Moore or a Cannavaro, great.

Which goes back to my original point. If you're wee, you need to be outstanding.

Strange signing. Obviously I would like the guy to be a great player but to be honest I would have preferred to see us bringing in a big, experienced centre half. Still we can only hope.
How is it "strange"?
It's the perfect type of signing. Boyata and Jozo are the two CB's. We're not going to sign an experienced CB to sit on the bench.

This way we have an up and coming lad, moving to Europe and will be hungry and willing to learn. He's got 22 caps and we could have another top player on our hands if he develops well.

Depends on what you mean by perfect. Personally I would have liked us to sign a centre-half who is going to improve our first team now - not done the line a bit. This guy could well be a great player and that will be great. However we have plenty of money now and I would like to see us take advantage of that and by readymade for a change.

A ready made CB coming to Celtic will be Erik standard.

not necessarily. Erik standard was what we could afford two years ago. Erik standard was what we could attract without cl. We are in a much stronger position now.

Boyata and Jozo don't need displacing. We're not going to buy experience or ready made to sit and watch. We've been unlucky with injuries.

Personally, I think we need a LB more urgently than a CB
