For the money mentioned we should have just taken him as is.........WTF do we have to lose really? At least then we would have control of his rehab..............it can't be that serious the guy has continually played at international level @20yrs age with it ongoing..............

We paid more for Ciftci ffs.

We'd have about £2.2 million to lose, conservatively assuming the fee was £750,000, he was to be on £5,000 per week and we had to expend an extra £2,000 per week on his training, treatment etc. for the next four years.

Indeed. Let his own club get him fit. We pay a small deposit to secure his services once he can be verified as ready.

Remember we had a similar situation with a Polish centre back under Lenny. Deal was all in place and announced and then failed his medical. Fojut I think? Turned up years later at Dundee Utd and was fairly pish.
Didn't fail hibs medical. Signed on a pre-contract then got a serious injury which filled him out for 9 months and we cancelled the deal.

His dodgy form in the period after he signed and before his injury might have been a factor in the decision as well
Yeah, it was Jaroslaw Fojut who ended up at Tannadice. He wasn't anything special there.

This was an odd one from the moment Ajax CT announced we'd bought him. Now the highly rated ace is now moving to the mighty Marmaduke Sunset. Hmm.

I'm thinking Ajax Cape Town are desperate for cash. He's probably went for a bit less than we were paying and they'll get a sell on if he's sold further down the line.

Indeed. Perhaps we did walking away for something else and the failed medical was an excuse.
