Even Rob Maclean on RS was joking about the ref yesterday giving Ross County “pity fouls” :nono:

The fact that he gave us a penalty and sent an opposition player off (2 decisions he really had no option but to make) will probably gloss over the fact that McLean was effing useless yesterday. That decision at the end where Sinclair was being fouled over a 50 yard run and he didn't give it was laughable. A special mention as well for the North Stand linesman who was incapable of making any decisions, even ones that were right in front of him, without checking with McLean first.

Just how much do these guys get paid to be this incompetent?

Should get a 12 game ban for that assault.

Refs let teams go in dirty as a leveller and we're supposed to put up with it. Obviously he got red carded yesterday but a strong message needs to be sent. There are way too many occasions when opposition players get away with potential leg breakers and jaw breakers, while our players get booked for their first foul or slightest indiscretion.

I've no problem with Celtic players being booked or sent off if they deserve it, but if the laws are applied consistently we'd be playing against 9 or 10 men every other week.

BBC stats for the game has us committing 10 fouls to their 8. Sums it all up really.
Do they count being caught offside as committing a foul?

Sooner or later this season’s leveller approach by referees is going to cost us a big game and the looming Sevco semi final presents the next opportunity. It’s becoming more blatant by the week with our players running unnecessary risk of injury because referees are failing to protect them from increasing thuggery, only taking action after numerous fouls by individual players are allowed to go and it’s late in the game before yellow cards are shown.

So far this season a “tolerant” ref hasn’t been able to stop us but Collum had a good go at it with the John lunge on Forrest that went unpunished followed in the second half by the hun being awarded free kicks in nearly every 50-50 challenge. They have two more chances in the cup to stop a back to back treble and I only have to think of McLean and the Inverness scandal to expect we’ll face more than 11 players in these games.

That's three red cards given for tackles on Scott Brown since Levein had his outburst. Levein should be held responsible for stoking up an attitude of kick Brown.

Davies should get a lengthy ban for that "tackle" yesterday, it was an absolute shocker.

Flash Scores gives the same stat; according to their figures we committed nine fouls in the second half to County's one.

Ex Timmy Academy training surely Declan? :ph43r:

Fwiw they are.

Sinclair got wired into that fud at full time yesterday who was blatantly trying to keep the score down and was not caring in the slightest if a Celtic player got badly hurt - Davies was at the Fourth Official and even Rodgers was at him.

I expect the Semi- Final will be a disgrace in terms of the anti Celtic refereeing as they have basically two games maximum to stop a Celtic Double Treble and by feck they will not gaf how bad the decisions are to try and ensure they achieve that.

They can't do, otherwise Morelos would be sent off for persistent fouling every game

Really bugs me that. When we’re getting pumped in Europe we never get any pity fouls but in pretty much every domestic game the teams we’re playing do. There’s a total if in doubt give it against Celtic because they’ll win anyway attitude.

Someone’s going to have to get tore into them in either post match interviews or press conferences and call them out for the blatant cheating that’s going on.

I can understand the reluctance to do it due to the likelihood of a touch line ban so don’t really expect BR to do it but Davies or Kennedy should be told to get tore in and take one for the team :arrr:

ETA, particularly in the case of a Hun season ticket holder like madden being allowed to officiate in games featuring the Huns.

I wonder if they count them in amongst general stats but not against individual players, I honestly don't know. If they are counted Pepe Inzaghi would have been classed as the dirtiest player of all time, was it Fergie that said he was born offside.

An indirect free kick is awarded for offside but it is not a foul. Offside should be counted in general stats and listed as such. Fouls should be listed separately.

It does suggest they are just a dirty bastards in general, rather than just “against us”. In this league it’s an important distinction to make.

Gardyne seems particularly aggressive against us. Gave izzy a couple a sore ones in the past too.

I’m quite confident in saying that we have the lowest collective amount of stoppage time over a league season. Especially at the home games.

Same again yesterday, 6 subs and 2 second half goals - 1 minute added. I’ve never seen that in the EPL or any of the other top leagues in Europe.
