Lennon not missing Beaton after match. Poor wee lambs will be going on strike again at this rate.

I do, though, have a problem with Ross after his Izaguirre brainfart in the 2-1 New Year game at Ibrox last season. Rangers player plays a heavy pass out towards the touchline which is going out for our throw. Izaguirre just about keeps the ball in play (that was going out for our throw) and puts a pass away to Sinclair down the left to launch a Celtic attack. Flag up and...throw in to Rangers.

I had forgotten about that  Up there with the wildest decisions I've witnessed. An explanation on that would have been interesting.
That was outrageous.

If VAR came to the Scottish game they would never again finish in the top 6

Was a dreadful challenge on McGinn. Straight red every day of the week.

It's long past the time when Scottish football has to get a grip of some of the assaults masquerading as tackles. If for instance Spanish referees were in charge of our games some teams would finish with 7 players! I base this on watching a lot of La Liga games. Managers like Rodgers and Lennon must continue to speak up about this and hopefully some of the more enlightened managers will join them. There is a place in the game for hard tackling,of course there is,but we're getting beyond the pale up here these days.

100% red card every time I watch it. No wonder Lenny is exasperated.

It showed up when Hibs went down to 10, they had no clue or idea how to take advantage of it (sounds familiar doesn't it), I was a bit surprised when they actually equalised. They have no football in them whatsoever, they just sit in and wait for mistakes from the opposition or rely on set-pieces.
McGinn must have more than a few bruises this morning, ref let far too much go from St. Johnstone, some of the tackles were shocking.

Just watched the alston challenge. I think a yellow was right. Its absolutely cynical but its basically a trip

Cardosos boot into dembeles knee last week was just as cynical and much more violent and much more of a red card

Not seen a BBC story about that one mind...

I’ll confess I am not up to speed with the detail of the rules of the game but that was a bit more that’s a trip. Hibs were in a very strong attacking position with guys either side and he basically took him out with no chance of getting the ball. Even wee Doddsie’s immediate reaction in commentary was ‘he’s away’.

As I said I’m no expert and there are degrees of interpretation but I think he should have been off for that. Hibs do appear to be getting more than their fair share if dodgy decisions of late. :suspect:

I didn't think it was a Red, cynical aye but not a Red. had me thinking that's what some carrot should have done to McManaman at Celtic Park and numerous other examples since then.

if it's a red card, the offence would have to be serious foul play

for me though, it's not serious foul play because it's a trip. a trip with a wee bit of extra on it, but not enough to make it serious foul play

imo

whereas the cardoso one last week was a proper full bloodied whack and did merit serious foul play, as did the goss one on tierney's ankle

It’s all about opinions and I respect yours. Totally agree regarding last week and like I said I’m no technical expert on interpretation of the rules so maybe I just saw last nights offence with a bit of bias in my eyes (have been admiring Hibs and wanted them to win). I suspect your interpretation is probably the correct one

The game's a bogey in Scotland if tackles like that are only punished with a yellow.
