Watched collum at thr sevilla champions league play off and ge reffed it very well, that shocked me. He actually looked like a top ref in that game. Beaton was the assistant!

Had a Saint Johnstone fan last night insisting to me that KT elbowed him in the face first

Looks as though he was trying to shake KT off or was that his intention?

Aim a dig at KT so it looks as though he was trying to shake him off?

Collum is a wee dick. Yesterday's performance merely compounds it :mitb: :carrot:

Hmm would almost make you think they were being scrutinised under a different set of performance criteria at home.

If all McLean was doing was trying to shake him off (he wasn't) then why would he be booked?
Collum sh4t it, siimple as. He saw a punch thrown but deemed that act of violent conduct a yellow card. Incompetence just doesn't cover it.

That dickheid Grieve describes it as "seemed to swing an arm at the Celtic fullback".
No he didn't Grieve, he threw a fecking punch you fecking halfwit.

Doesn't matter. If the intent is there, it's still a red.

My biggest issue with Collum is his positioning. In almost every game he manages to touch the ball. Also, at one point yesterday it looked like he was trying to mark Tierney.

I missed the KT incident so can't comment. Collum got dog's abuse from the crowd today on about a dozen occasions. In the vast majority of them I actually thought he called it correct. I didn't think he was right to give them their free kick at the edge of our box, but if he thought there was an offence I thought it was inside the box. I thought a couple of minutes later we had a stronger claim to a free kick in an attacking position but they were both in the 40-60 to 60-40 category. He failed to give us an advantage at one point but we were in our own half so no big deal, and he failed to warn their keeper for blatant time wasting. There was one decision (forgotten the details) that I actually thought went our way. We dropped two points today because of Craig Gordon, bad luck and bad finishing. The referee's role was little if anything, for once. For the record, I think we regularly get mugged, just not today.
You can't comment on his most questionable decision, then spend 100 words defending his performance
I missed it because there was little to it. A red card would have been very harsh seems to be the general consensus on CU, even if not everybody's take on it. I honestly don't think Collum had a particularly bad game yesterday, and you'll rarely find me defending Scottish referees.

Sorry but you are having a laugh.

He has a clear swing at KT, that's a red card every time!!

Tbh, I don't think the St Johnstone guy should have seen red and tin hat on but I do think KT has a slight tendency to go down a wee bit too easily sometimes. :ph43r:

Wasn't quite a classic Willie Collum performance as no one got sent off and there were no dubious penalties but he seemed to just be making it up as he went along, and the booking Hayes got was ridiculous

Having seen it now (missed it at the game), I think a red would have been very harsh - I've no idea why he got a yellow, seems like 2 players tussling / untangling themselves and an arm thrown / pulled away - if it was a Celtic player doing that and he got a red for it, this place would be in melt down

Maybe he goes down because he's learned that's the only way to get the ref's attention.
How many times was he the victim of an assault last season?
And how many players saw red as a result?

It's a sad indictment of the pro game that players need learn the art of going down and appearing to have taken a bad one.

Loads and none.

That was a red card all day long yesterday, can't believe anyone would argue otherwise.
