I missed the KT incident so can't comment. Collum got dog's abuse from the crowd today on about a dozen occasions. In the vast majority of them I actually thought he called it correct. I didn't think he was right to give them their free kick at the edge of our box, but if he thought there was an offence I thought it was inside the box. I thought a couple of minutes later we had a stronger claim to a free kick in an attacking position but they were both in the 40-60 to 60-40 category. He failed to give us an advantage at one point but we were in our own half so no big deal, and he failed to warn their keeper for blatant time wasting. There was one decision (forgotten the details) that I actually thought went our way. We dropped two points today because of Craig Gordon, bad luck and bad finishing. The referee's role was little if anything, for once. For the record, I think we regularly get mugged, just not today.

To actually see a player throw a punch at another player and then give a yellow card, is a level somewhere beyond incompetence.
There really is no excusing that decision.

Tierney got punched in the effing face FFS

How he can see that and give a yellow is absolutely insane.
It's not insane, it's not even incompetence, it's cheating. He witnessed the offence, what referee at any level of football thinks that throwing a punch is a yellow card?

Same old shampoo, bunch of cheating bastards that will apply the rules on our players but for everyone else they'll interpret the rules.

Rotten carrots.

Should be demoted for months, will most likely get the first hun game though.

You can't comment on his most questionable decision, then spend 100 words defending his performance

As soon as there was a sniff we might lose our unbeaten run he gave St J absolutely everything. The free kick he gave against Lustig was cheating. Nothing but pure unadulterated cheating.

Then the inexplicable decision to ignore a swinging elbow :ffs:

His decision to wave play on when the StJ lad was in obvious difficulty was a perfect display of his incompetence.

I couldn't believe it when he pulled out a yellow. It was a perfect right jab. A disgrace.
This for me.

It's either nothing and pretend he hasn't seen it, or a straight red. A yellow for a punch? Wish our guys knew that.

It wasn't a head knock and he wasn't long getting to his feet when St Johnstone also played on after regaining possession.

Eh? I'm talking about the lad that was stretchered off. According to his manager, the player was knocked out.

Never known a ref to as regularly get in the road of play as Gollum; there's not a game passes where he's not struck by the ball at least once.

That was Liam Craig. I watched him after the ball moved away. He did the time honoured 'I'll stay down here for a bit' when he didn't get play stopped, had a sneaky peek, got back up when they regained possession and miraculously ran off his alleged 'deidy' in about 2 paces

It was astonishing. As you say, the perfect display of incompetence, as was the booking for the punch.

We've been batting on about Collum for a number of years now and I just came to the conclusion he was incompetent. However after what I saw today there is something more sinister amiss. And why didn't the linesman at that side (Ross??) not pipe up too?
However I'm sure Brendan still won't be rushing into introducing the bad refereeing into his training schedules any time soon.
Fifa rules - Throwing a punch is violent conduct - Violent conduct is a sending off offence - Collum, the Main Stand Linesman and the Fourth Official were all well within vision of the punch - All three are supposed to know the rules and get a fair wedge for refereeing the game.

Celtic must just be very unlucky we get referees who don't know the rules. :suspect: #neutrality and impartiality.
