Watched the Ajer incident back. Madden is about to blow the whistle until he sees that Aberdeen could have a good chance.
Yet blew immediately in the 1st half when Ajer was fouled instead of letting Rogic continue with an advantage.

Like what we said...Bobby Madden, we know you’re a Hun...

In Scotland it's very rare to get a decent pitch and a competent referee ie the basics.

The rule is that he can let it go for a few seconds and if advantage doesn’t come he can then penalise the initial infringement.

Either doesn’t know the rule or cheated.

I'd like to see Brendan say something about that performance today, especially not stopping play when Ajer went down, although not to the extent of Lenny's heroics yesterday. Apart from giving them a chance to score, it's just dangerous not to stop play immediately.
Don't remember Lustig's first yellow, but can't complain about the second. It is, however, the kind of thing our players are booked for and opponents are frequently not. No other major incidents, but plenty of smaller inconsistencies today with what is a foul when it's us and what isn't when it's them.

That's was the kind of performance we used to get at Pittodrie when Craig Thompson would inevitably get the game up there.

Lots of FKs against us in our half, get them get up the park, as they can't get there on merit, and the ball into box.

TBF to Thompson he was just a game manager, Madden is a genuine risk to the wellbeing of our players.

We've spent years watching Madden cheat it started with incidents like the Mackay-Steven penalty, awarding a penalty against Ledley for the ball richocheting off Wanyama (easy mistake to make).

These type of decisions led to a promotion for Bobby.

A referee has one job above anything else and that is to protect the players. When it comes to Celtic players he will not do this part of his job. You don't need to analyse every single decision to highlight that, his conduct in the 1-1 win for Sevco where a number of disgusting challenges went unpunished.

However, his shameful failure to stop play when a 19 yo kid was lying on his back, bleeding and possibly unconscious due to a head injury displayed the level to which he will sink. He had the cheek to stop play later on, for perennial diver McClean, for a head injury  .

Madden is a cheating hun. It's long past time Celtic should be pushing for the English rules on refs.
As much as I agree with that, it would leave us with hardly any refs as most of them are boyhood huns.
I think out of a population of over 5million we could come up with some neutral refs. The fans are paying to watch a professional game after all.
I don't doubt we could, I doubt we do. Which is the main point.

Also not to forget Clint Hills supposed tackle on LG last year in dying minutes of Rangers (new one) at CP.

How the fook that was not a penalty ?

:ponder:

Hill even told the gaffer it was a penalty straight after g ame.

Haven't seen it mentioned on here, in the 1st half today, Jozo slides in and knocks the ball out for a shy - ref gives a free kick which they fire into the box and almost score from

Madden’s got form for allowing play to continue if it looks like it might lead to a goal against Celtic.

Holt scythed Roberts in their epic 0-0 victory last March. Clearest foul you will ever see but Bro Madden allowed play to continue and they nearly scored.

The expression on Madden’s coupon when KT scored is just wonderful

The head knock to ajer is terrible refereeing - he’s there - right next to it and he lets play continue

Shocking stuff

Could be wrong buy it looked like he motioned as if he was about to blow then saw the move progressing positively for Aberdeen and played on. He's a disgrace imho.

Should have the book thrown at him for not stopping play when Ajer was hurt, that's serious.

Aside from that, horrendous mistake by Clancy in the Hibs game too. Are they all taking notes from each other on how to be terrible? I don't remember the reffing being so consistently dreadful in just about every match every weekend like this.

I went to school with Clancy, as I recall he was a wee dick, can't remember what his team was, though the school WAS St Aloysius'.

Jij, that was right at the beginning of the game and set the tone for what came next. Madden awarded a foul to McLean every time he hit the deck or every time he backed into Jozo which, as you say, gave Aberdeen very good chances to score from the ensuing free kicks. I didn't think it was incompetence. It was cheating.

Celtic should demand a public explanation of why he waved play on at the head knock. A referee willingly endangering the welfare of a player is more than deserving of a public complaint.

Correct but that was down to the assistant referee. He was 3 or 4 yards from the incident, A perfect tackle by Simunovic - cue flag waving, freekick Aberdeen.

Video of match in link above.

Clash happens at 58.34 in the game. You can see Madden raise is right arm and then not blow this whistle
