Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Brendan's said there'll be games where both of them play.
Agree - why can't we play 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 I'm sure Brendan will definitely play Griff and Dembele together quite often especially against SPFL opposition.Only in European games he'll probably go with either or, as its another level entirely as JC once famously said ( correctly I might add ).Weve got so many options with the 6 signings ( including Ajer ) it's a fantastic position to be in
If Dembele and Griffiths are both firing on all cylinders then I can definitely see them playing together. This happened with Suarez and Sturridge at Liverpool, Rodgers changed the formation to fit them both in. In that case he played a diamond midfield or variations involving 3 at the back, where you can just as easily see him fitting Sinclair in somewhere. At Liverpool, Sterling moved behind the front two, with Coutinho playing as one of the other midfield 3. When in possession everyone was switching positions as well.

The formation isn't that important, it's mainly just a way of getting most of your best players into the lineup. This is even more the case for a manager like Rodgers, where everyone is moving off the ball when in possession and when the ball is lost, everyone immediately presses from whatever position they happen to be in. You have more rigid managers like Pulis where the formation is perhaps more important, since the attacking and defensive shape aren't as different from each other, but even then there is still variation between the two.

The notion that 4-4-2 is 'outdated' is incorrect. As I said, formations are benign. They only really apply to defensive shape if at all e.g. the defensive shape for 4-4-2 for a lot of teams would look exactly the same for a team supposedly using 4-2-3-1. Likewise 4-1-4-1 and 4-3-3.

So happy that he took his hat trick on Saturday but let's not get things out of perspective here. As muted on here so many times prior to playing them, the players he was up against were of a really poor standard. I expect him to start v Barcelona due to Griffs injury. He'll be a lone striker with instructions on receiving, holding and playing in the midfield, whilst looking for a return pass. Let's see how he performs that role in the team and if he can go onto to be a really good player.
aye, right ye are.

let's see how he does in the Nou Camp, at age 20, against the best team in world football, in a game where we will be defending for about 88 minutes before we make our minds up.

sorry , my mind was made up weeks ago. This boy is a talent. Perspective, eh?

Aye, he scored a magnificent hat-trick following a jaw-dropping performance in one of the most intense games in all of football at only 20. But I'm waiting to see if he can he do it on a Tuesday night in Catalonia before I make my mind up.

If he scores on Tuesday the question will be can he cope with Killie's plastic pitch on a frosty November Friday night

Brendan's said there'll be games where both of them play.
Rodgers played Sturridge and Suarez together often enough. He seems to like 'transitional' formations a lot with the back 3 idea with Tierney tucking in to make it a 4 so I don't see why we can't accommodate Griffiths and Dembele without playing a flat 4-4-2 or by shunting one of them wide.
I think he tried to play 4-3-3 when he arrived at Liverpool and it didn't work. 4-4-2 with Suarez and Sturridge did work, obviously. He reverted to a 4-3-3 after Suarez left and was roundly slaughtered down there when he stuck to it and never got the results.

4-3-3 is clearly working for Celtic at this time. I am sure we will play 4-4-2 in the future at some point. I just don't think we should change a winning formation to accommodate two strikers who are both on form.
