I don't like to get on the back of any Celtic player but I have to agree with some that his attitude can seem a bit suspect. Unless my eyes deceived me he left the pitch at the end of the game yesterday and didn't wait to receive or reciprocate the applause of the fans. If that was the case then it doesn't sit well with me nor will it sit well with many of the fans in the longer term. Someone of greater maturity in the squad maybe needs to have a word in his ear.
I'm sure someone said earlier that he went to the fans at full time. People really seem to be searching for reasons to get on this kid's back.
I'm putting it down to age but his body language is strange. When Sinclair scored the pen he had hands on hips. Just turned round to line up. No reaction. No fist pump nada.

Came off the pitch last (along with Griffiths) after giving his shirt to a fan.
Gave his shirt to a fan? . Must be his last game for us!

He's like that when he scores himself.

He's maybe just not very demonstrative.

Then I stand corrected. That was why I said "unless my eyes deceived me" and "if this was the case".

I haven't seen anything on the sorts
Obviously. Seeing as you were talking about 'link-up play=assists'.

Anyway, I'll give it a bash.

Back-heel to Sinclair that should've led to a goal against Apoel.
Linked up excellently with Griff and won the penalty against Astana.
Wins the flick-on that leads to our penalty against Aberdeen.
Released the pressure somewhat against Apoel away. Held it up for both Rogic and Janko.

This is without even giving it any sort of thought.
I could probably add Forrest, Roberts, Griffiths, Rogic and Sinclair to this 'hold up/linking/assist' chat and find an equal or greater amount from those players.

My point is simple, people are now creating the myth that his link up play is somehow extraordinary, to effectively cover up through fact that he's (as yet) failed to live up to expectations. Granted it's very, very early doors but I don't see what others claim to. Imo his link up play (even discounting assists) is certainly no better than the players listed above, in fact, I'd say he's probably behind the rest.

Give him time and hope he comes good.
BTW, I'd rather a lethal finish above any other attribute a striker possessed.

Think it is more than a little harsh to say he hasn't lived up to expectations. He has started what? 5 games? He has 4 goals in that time.

To compare Moussa to Fortune is also more than a little harsh.

We've got a good player on our hands. Very powerful runner, intelligent movement and works hard for the team. Good focal point to our play when hes on the pitch, which hopefully will be a little more often over the next few weeks/months

Obviously. Seeing as it's the wingers/midfielders job to link the effing play. I'd be interested to see you try with Griff. He's already stated a few times it's the weakest part of his game.

No one is creating any myth. No one said it's extraordinary. However, it's better than Griffiths' and it's something we've not had in several years.

Failed to live up to expectations? That's quite clearly another lie you've created. 4 goals in 10 games for a 19 year old, who hasn't even started the majority of those games is impressive as eff, actually. Anyone who says otherwise is at it, or really doesn't know how football works.

Would you be so kind as to point out the obviously many times in which Dembele has shown his 'great link up play'.
His flick on at the near touch line to release Sinclair late on at home to Hapoel was absolutely first class.

He's not the finished article but he's shown promise in every game I've seen him in. He was excellent at Tyncastle and putting him on for Grif in Isreal was what won us the tie.

Bizarre that folk are trying to talk him down. All this and he's 19 years old. He'll be a superstar and we're very lucky to have him.
Anyone who's a potential threat to Super Leigh...

I like him, and his pace and physicality will see him start the majority of our away ties in the CL.

He did. Looked as if he was going to chucked it into the stand and changed his mind at the last second to give it to the guy at the front, except he was still in the act of chucking it, so it appeared he got it full force.

Sure he wasn't bothered right enough and Dembele looked as if he'd got over his huff.

Think he does need reminded it's a team game though, as it looks as if he's annoyed if he's not in the middle of it. That said, he doesn't play selfishly from what I can see, just doesn't seem to take a great deal of enjoyment when some of the other players score.

Dembele was nowhere to be seen after the final whistle. It was Toure who ran over and skelped a fan with his shirt.

It was indeed Kolo. They all look the same etc...

Dembele was right up the tunnel. He was clearly in a huff re the penalty but seemed to be over it later on in the evening when he posted on Twitter.

Seems like my initial thoughts may have been correct then.
