Surprised there aren't more comments in here today. He was brilliant yesterday.
as always, we're concentrating on the ones that were pish. :arrr:

Moussa was terrific when he came on, and his effort on goal just about cost me a whole new ceiling. :twitch:

That's about right.

Can't remember the last time we had two strikers who could strike a ball as cleanly and with such power as Dembele and Griffiths. Not even when we had Hartson, Sutton and Larsson was that the case. Dembele's not quite as good as those three (yet!), but effing hell he can hit a ball.

That was some effort from him that just flew wide, watched the game with my old man and he actually thought the ball went in, felt he played well when he came on, was a bit slack when the ball was played into his feet through the midfield but put in a good shift, it's a breath of fresh air to have good options all over the park and knowing we're still looking to improve.

He didn't look pleased at all when Sinclair took the pen off him. He made an impact when he came on. It was a great leap in build up to the pen.

Reminded me a little bit of the time Balotelli took a pen off Jordan Henderson.

Considering retirement

To be fair to him, if he's the designated penalty taker then he SHOULD have taken the penalty. I appreciate that Sinclair took it and scored but he shouldn't have taken it imo. We've seen it before with Forrest/Guidetti and Griffiths/Johansen. We should have a player who if is on the park should be the only one to take a penalty.

I know Sinclair scored but I wouldn't be chopping and changing the pen takers about. Griff and Moussa had said Moussa was now the pen taker, so that does make him look a wee bit silly. Trouble is if you take a ball from the pen taker, it gives you an added pressure to score imo.

I agree if hes the penalty taker and on the field he takes them. What you dont do though is what he did. He effectively said eff it if you miss it im not getting involved for the slack ball. He stood still instead of moving in and then just turned away and walked away in the opposite direction from everyone else. Not on and I hope Rodgers puts a rocket up his arse for it. You want togetherness and a team fighting for each other.

Agreed. Hate that "winner takes it" pish.

He always looks moody and seemingly never smiles but he's still a teamplayer. Even after the penalty he still chased ever ball and played in other players when some would have shot.

Derby bought Vydra for £8m today who got 3 Championship goals last season. What a piece of business we done getting him in.

Yep and as the nominated taker, he should have hit it.

Definitely starting to see there's a player there, very intelligent movement off the ball and links well with the other forward players.

First touch is absolutely honking though.

I'm new. Be gentle.
Fact of the matter is that Sinclair took the ball off Dembele, if Dembele is the pen taker then he takes the ball no matter what. Whether he came on as a sub or not. Sinclair has a big personality, he win the PK, he took it and buried it. Dembele's face tripping him means nothing. Sinclair wasn't here when Dembele was given pen duties v astana. Sinclair is now the main man and thats it.

So how does that get decided during a game? Dembele is a big boy, he should go to Sinclair and say ''thats mine'' but he didnt. And no one went to Sinclair to tell him to bolt. Who cares anyway? As long as the ball is in the net it's all that matters, dembeles ego and feelings mean nothing when we need that pen buried and he didnt take the baw himsel

Being a fan of Griffiths, I'd say Dembele needs to do a little more when he gets his chance. Fair enough it's limited time but his first touch is wanting a little. Had he a better touch, the guy would be banging them in. Would like to see Griffiths staying on with Dembele. Still, can't argue with results like todays.
