You see that he has a bit of x-factor with his ability to run through a defence (occasionally), but in general I´m not overly impressed so far. My main problem with him is his inability to hold on to the ball and his weakness in duels. As a target man, he looks quite useless so far and also I think he too often makes wrong decisions whether to pass the ball or go for a finish himself (which also could be said about Griffiths, btw).

Does anyone play with a target man these days? Do we want to be adopting long ball game?

I doubt he's been bought to be a target man per se

He'll be fine provided he doesn't let the lack of goals so far start to affect his confidence. There's definitely a player of top potential there.

Thought he was unlucky at times. Only saw about 35 mins of extended highlights and thought another day he'd have scored a couple. Must have been already celebrating when Souttar blocked his shot in the box.

He is going to be fine. On another day would have had two goals. Great save and great defensive block denied him. Needs to work on his understanding with Griff

There's likely a reason he's not linking up with Griff. Mostly that Griffiths is a greedy bastard.

The ones he does decide to lay off are usually powder puff.

I feel the big fella's frustration at times.

Really want the big man to do well.

Comments very much appreciated. Seems the jury's out on him. Hope he becomes an integral part of the team and is the first name on the team sheet. There's some really good coaches at Celtic and with BR's input his overall game can improve and he can start scoring regularly.

A beast of a boy at 20. I really like him, just needs a bit more sharpness but going to be a great asset in Europe.

Very true, but that goes with the territory mate.

That said his lead up play for the winner yesterday was absolutely top notch. He can provide that aspect for the team when he really wants to.

It sounded like a criticism and I suppose it is, Let me temper it a bit, Griffiths at times lacks awareness of runners around about him.

There was a good few occasions yesterday where griffiths should have put better options in. Twice in 1st half and once in the scond half.

Some times you need to pass a long ball out from defence as you did several times yesterday. Then yes, it´s good to have someone on top those balls can be addressed to. I don´t see anything controversial in that.

I thought we were direct yesterday, we weren't hoofing it but we played a lot of good balls from defence to the forwards.

He's got a lot to offer. And for the price we paid, he'll prove to be a bargain. Before being sold.

Griffiths had to do a lot on his own last season. It's going to take some time for Griffiths and Dembele to develop a proper partnership.

That's true but I would also say Moussa needs to look for a pass as well.

I do like him as a player though and I think he will be a big hit at Celtic.

Griffiths had to do a lot on his own last season. It's going to take some time for Griffiths and Dembele to develop a proper partnership.
What we might see is Sinclair and Roberts chipping in with more of the goals with Dembele playing as more of a point man than a goalscorer who will offer physicality and pace to create space and chances for others.

He can do for Griffiths what Heskey did for Michael Owen as far as acting as a foil and taking the pressure off him. I know Emile Heskey brings negative connotations, but there are similarities as far as his robust style and powerful running goes. If we can polish off the rough edges I'm sure he'll be able to offer much more than that, but I'd be more than happy if he contributes in that way, even if he isn't scoring every other week.
