About 1.30 seconds into this video is the penalty shout. Great burst of pace from Dembele. Guy holds him back and then rugby tackles him. Pen for me.

Theres no way that can be told from that angle. We need a clearer picture but they didnt seem to get s replay on premier or celtic tv.

My initial reaction was a heavy touch the Astana player put the shoulder into him and Dembele took another step before leaning into him and going down. I just as easy cant say thats correct without a replay. But from what we saw on any tv pics nobody can say stonewaller and nobody can say it wasnt a penalty. Its just not clear enough.
Premier or CelticTV didn't show a replay because the Kazakhstan TV guys who were broadcasting it didn't show one

Premier/Celtic/BT/Sky merely show what is fed to them, they have no power on directing the pictures
Yeh i know they were just beaming back pics. Its the only two channels ive seen it on. Im only thinking if there was another angle that was maybe shown in summarising or highlights anywhere on another broadcaster.

One thing I expect to see from him that I don't think I have so far, is an expectation that Roberts is going to beat his man and get a good cross in. I think he needs to gamble on that more and play on the defender's shoulder a wee bit more. The same's true of crosses from Tierney etc. - he needs to expect those to come in and be in a goal scoring position rather than closer to the edge of the box. There's a time to expect to play with your back to goal, and there's cases where he should expect a cross.

But, he's clearly talented and is capable of a lot more than he's shown so far, he just needs to work smarter. However poorly he's been so far I'd rather he got game time to get closer to his potential than we saw Ciftci on the park.

I'd like for him to be given 90 mind. I'd imagine his pace would be more useful when the game is stretched.

very unlucky not to win us a pen and red card yesterday.

Check the full match on youtube. It was a clear penalty imo.

Watched a bit of the game back and he made a couple of really powerful runs that took the pressure off the defence. What let him down was his decision making.

He ran into trouble a couple of times instead of releasing the ball to players in better positions.

Do they have a different angle to what weve seen? I only ask because if thats the only angle we cant tell if it was or wasnt. We can all hasard a guess but theres nothing conclusive.

Roberts, Griffiths and Dembele all look like they struggle with when to release the ball to a team mate.

A 19-year old having to bed in and obtain match fitness while playing in the club's most important fixtures of the season & with the additional pressure and expectation of, until recently, being the only new signing.

He's done OK and deserves patience. Once the domestic campaign gets going and he's up to speed I'm hopeful he'll prove to be a very good addition.

It was actually noticeable last night, particularly in the second half, that when Roberts got the ball he had three men surrounding him. Someone in our midfield has to make the supporting run and then some quick ball movement and space opens for someone. Something to work on.

Not all Roberts fault to be honest as at least once he had the ball and held his hands out looking for support.

Griffiths and Dembele just have to look up and realise it is not always best to shoot.

the manager should have started Janko and played Lustig at CB like he did v Leicester.

I think all players of Robert's type can be guilty at times of trying to do too much, hopefully PR will learn during his time at Celtic when to keep it and when to pass, Dembele needs a bit of work in this regard also.

I think Roberts was unfortunate he had a honking ref otherwise he probably would have found more space. Some of the fouls they got away with without being carded was woeful.

Hopefully get a strong ref next week.

you cant be suggesting that we allow a 19 year old more than three competitive games (two of which were away from home on poor plastic surfaces) before we decide he's a total dud....that'll never catch on here.. ;)

I like Dembele. He's probably got the mindset that he only has an hour to do something before he gets hooked and is trying too hard to impress.

Once he gets off the mark he'll be flying.

Excited by this lad.

I dunno if it was a pen, the guy grabs an arm and falls but I'm not sure why Dembele does. Stay up and stick it in the pokey next time.

Has anyone said hes a total dud? Most are saying theyre not impressed so far but give him time which is a fair assessment.

I think he'd lost the ball and went to ground. Difficult to say with the poor coverage.
