Thought Brendan was very clever yesterday. Sent Dembele and Larsson to warm up at the exact same time. Of course the crowd rose to acclaim Larsson. You could see Dembele looking around taken aback. I think Brendan was giving Dembele a little look into the box of delights. "You could be king".
I have a sneaky feeling he might stay another year and this season was hit by injuries. Moussa wasnt looking around the stadium like Paddy was on his farewell.

Moussa will only leave Celtic when he and his agent think it is the right thing for him. He wont be pushed out because Celtic get a big bid for him so he may be here next season, he really enjoys playing for Celtic and has great relationship with the team especially French Eddie and Ntcham
He and his agent are very focused as proven when he moved to Fulham at a young age and then chose Celtic to develop when other teams in England were interested.

He's a terrific talent and will only get better, he's a big game player and hopefully we can progress in Europe so he can show it.

If we get a bid that meets our valuation and the club want to sell - He’ll go.

Same with KT - regardless if he wants to stay for 10. If someone offers us 35-40m he’ll go too.

People really aren't paying attention. Our whole model is buy raw talent, develop and sell for as much as we can get.

Moussa will be sold. There's not a hope in hell he will be allowed to run down his contract and rightly so.

How'd you figure that? Can't force the boy to Brighton if he doesn't like the pier.

Those aren’t the type of clubs that fork out 30-40m for a left back though?

With Moussa having 2 years left on his deal I can see him being sold if the right bid comes in, with KT having 5 left on his anyone who bids should be politely told to eff off

It was Dembele I was referring to primarily. It is quite likely we would receive an attractive bid from a team he doesn't fancy.

Tierney still falls into the 'would have to be right for all parties' bracket.

Anyone paying attention would obviously realise that’s not our whole model.

The right bid has to come from the right team, if the likes of Brighton Burnley Huddersfield etc come in with a bid that is acceptable to Celtic then Moussa will sit tight.

The overwhelming majority of recent signings - Musonda, Compper, Bain, Hayes, probably even Hendry - have not been signed with a view to selling for a huge profit. Other than Ntcham and Dembele (and I guess Eboue at a push) none of Rodgers’ buys fit that profile.

For Celtics mdel of buying in young players and selling them on at a profit they have to keep good relationships with certain agents and trying to punt the player to the first decent bid doesn't make for good relationships

To be fair, with the possible exception of Bain, the signings you list there represent quite a compelling argument for sticking to 'the model'.

How much attention are you paying?

Where do Hayes, Compper, Roberts and Edouard (current loan agreement) fit into that model?

If we were prepared to have Roberts and Musonda for 2 and 1/2 years and 1 and 1/2 years with no chance of making a profit on them then why wouldn’t we be prepared to have Dembele for 4 years and not make a profit on him?

Because Dembele is ours, we got him for 500k and we could probably make £30m whilst sending him on a path to greatness?

Dembele is leaving. It might not be this summer but when he does it wont be for free. We aren't stupid.

No it isn't. :ponder:

Can't just sell players when we feel like it either. Dembele will be on a lot of lists this summer, but there's no guarantee anyone will meet our asking price (or give us the sell on clause we'll no doubt ask for) etc. etc.

Maybe so; that wasn’t my argument though. Since Rodgers became manager, most of his signings haven’t fitted that model at all.

That’s a bit different then given his situation

I’d be happy to get another 2 seasons out of him, then he can walk for free. 4 years is a good commitment.

He may extend with an agreement he can go. I do think Ntcham and Edouard being here with him, may encourageme him to stay a bit longer.

I hope so
