Griffiths vs Dembele

If we played Ross County, Hamilton, and Motherwell every week, I'd choose Griffiths. For bigger matches in Scotland, and in Europe, I would choose Dembele.
Griffiths is a better finisher, and penalty box striker. Very good at set pieces. His ability to bring others in to play is terrible and in tight matches he gives away the ball far too much.
Dembele isn't as good a finisher, but is still decent at it. He is decent at free kicks (with country), but doesn't take them for us as there are better takers. He helps on defensive set pieces and does a lot of work there, and is a threat from crosses and corners. He is very good at bringing others into play. His work in the box could be better but he is good at creating the odd chance for himself.

Overall, I'd much rather have Dembele because I think we would have more than enough to beat the rest in the league anyway. Griffiths all round game has improved so much, to the place that I wouldn't hate to see him lead the line in Europe like I was in his first season or two, but he is nowhere near Dembele still in that sense.

L'Equipe has an article about a surprise call-up for a striker. I can't get access to the article, but it's illustrated wby a picture of MOUSSA DEMBELE :)

He’s a fine specimen.

I reckon that Griffiths always gets more, but Moussa gets the better quality.

Griffiths has a good 8 digs a game as well.
I don't think he's talking about goals :naught:

Dembele is a better finisher than Griffiths. Griffiths is more likely to score from outside the box than Dembele. Dembele is more likely to score inside the box.

Don't like admitting this but I think Morelos will finish top goal scorer he is still young. I reckon sevco will get at least 25 million for him in the future

:rocker:

I don't even think he will, if I had a bet I might actually go for Boyd ahead of him :twitch: fwiw Griffiths has the best goals to minutes ratio in the league. With injuries and struggling for form after them no Celtic player has been able to get a real run together till now, hopefully Moussa can still hit 25.

Don’t know, Kris Boyd is playing like he’s in his prime again and banging them in. I hope BR is taking note of that as he could potentially replace Moussa with him in the summer.

That silly enough?

Couldn’t be arsed with Griffiths v Dembele debate last season and was just thankful to have 2 great strikers on the books after all the duds we signed in that position under Lennon and Ronny.

Now it’s even better as we look to have 3 great strikers at the club. Would love it if somehow we kept Moussa and signed Edouard on a permanent deal next season. We are blessed at the moment with strikers.

Don't have to hark back long that our first choice was Kazim Richards and big Carlton Cole off the bench

Absolutely. The best part is all three offer something different and have all proven they can be relied upon in the big games. If we somehow kept all three it makes this summer look like much less of a rebuilding job.

I'm not sure of the exact answer to that but I think the point is we've upgraded out striking options significantly over the past couple of years.

Still got Cifti to come back from loan too. :ph43r:
