I am firmly in the zero service camp.

Thinking back to last week we were far more direct, hit him early and used his strength
The biggest issue is that our midfield just didn't get close enough all night. McGregor was highlighted pre-match at how well he done last week in providing support... anonymous tonight.

A good striker makes his own chances and moves for the pass to be made, if he was worth the £30m we seem to think he is worth then he would be doing that. A good striker should not have to be spoon fed the ball in front of goal to score a goal. A good striker manages to control the ball in an instance and doesn't need two of three touches to get it out from under his feet! MD has been bad all season and even now we still have people saying he seems a bit rusty...he's been back for two months ffs.

MD plays well when he can be arsed end of.

The tiny amount of shots the rest are creating for him / he's managing to make room for is incredible.

None today. None in the first leg. None vs Kilmarnock. 2 vs Thistle (one of which was blocked) I've never seen anything like it.

I'm just relaying the info the manager put out in his interview.

It's not mine or Brendans fault if you lot are absolutely clueless when it come to how football is played.
You are the clueless one chief. He has effing chucked it. Now go pick up the rattle mate before someone falls over it

No service and no support when the ball was in his area of the pitch a shambles of a performance at the top end of the pitch but what the big man did was win headers and hold the ball up well shame he didn't get the type of support he got last season.

I didn't notice a massive lack of effort. Felt it was more a case of him being isolated and unable to bring anyone else into the game as a consequnce.

Didnt play very many balls up to him at all and when we did and he took it down there wasnt one midfeilder near him , last week mcgregor was nearly everywere dembele went , no idea where he went this match.

Our team struggled playing a pass forward in between players even when the pass was clearly on. Our lack of width did not help either we had no one overlapping the players on the wing which resulted in us playing it backwards .

He's pretty shampooe as a lone striker isn't he. Doesn't seem to have the work rate to be a single focal point.

He is good as a lone striker , being a lone striker does not mean midfeilders arent allowed to support you though.

He showed last week what he can do as a lone striker when he has people supporting him once he has the ball.

He'd be a long way down the list of folk getting in the neck from me. Thought he generally held the ball up okay when he had to. Shouldn't be blamed for the dearth of creativity behind him.
Agreed.

I'm pretty sure I didn't say that..

However, if our midfielders are pinned back in defensive positions, he needs to get himself moving into the channels to act as an outball. Very rarely, if ever, does he do that. Him winning the ball in the middle of the park, with 2 centre halves immediately on his back gets us nowhere.

He's had some of the best individual performances of the season from any player for us this season playing in that role.

The issue, again, is the lack of support from the midfield. It was nothing to do with Dembele not running the channels.
