Half the time he doesn't even attempt to get a ball he's just backing in and losing out. Can't honestly say I've seen him outmuscle many the last few months.
With Griffiths out he's gonna get a run so he really need to hit form.

The way we are playing now i dont blame him if he is struggling to find incentive to lift his game - standing about for 10min while our back four play tippy tappy football at the back.
Must be a right scunner making a run only to see that fake forward then sideways/backwards pass we make all the time.

He needs to move people around and when he does that it'll open space for Sinclair etc to run into.

Not feckin interested and it looks like a real lack of professionalism. Any clubs looking on won’t be impressed. He better have a great feckin agent cos at this rate he will see out his 5 years at us.

When are the people who watched the game coming on to talk about it?
Dembele had a very solid game today. I have no idea what people are watching.

Solid??
He has been poor all season and at times has looked as if he can't be bothered, Eduoard for me has more about him at the moment, fast, always on the move, looking to get involved and he appears to have the same physical attributes as Dembele and moves around more. Their first touches at times are the same...pretty poor.
Today the best thing that Dembele done was in the 2nd minute after that it was all a bit meh!
I get that you like him but let's not make excuses about how he has been this season based on how his teamates behind him have played!

He contributed to a goal, nearly got himself on the scoresheet and constantly harassed and pressed the Thistle back line which nearly got him a boot in the puss. His touch and hold up play in to feet in the second half was very good and he even got himself into his own half to receive passes at times when we were going backwards - something people wanted him to do last week.
People think he's had a shampooe game because the ball gets lumped towards him and he doesnt win it in the air or bring it down as if that's his game. Go watch all his goals for Celtic. He's not a "big man" striker. He was also fouled more often than not when the ball came in at height but the ref let it go.
I guarantee if he got himself on the scoresheet the thread would read considerably different. People put far too much importance on goals over how the rest of the team play. The issues in this Celtic team are further back than Dembele yet he is the only one who is constantly singled out.

Would you rather a striker that scored 40 goals and we won 20 games or a striker that scored 0 goals and we won 30 games?
If the striker is contributing to the overall play of the team and making the right decisions AND helping others to score then it doesn't really matter. Modern football has taken the pressure off strikers in a front 3 to score goals and spread it amongst the front 3 more.

A striker being judged on goals? Imagine that.
It's a very simplistic way of looking at it. The later obviously. Funny you mention the word simplistic as that’s exactly what that scenario is. There’s 10 other players who’d have a say in us winning games for starters.
Has Dembele been making the right decisions and helping others score often this season? I don’t think he has. I thought he had a decent game today but he's still some way off his best form and has struggled to find it all this season with a few notable exceptions (Pittodrie) for example.
