Think the Board have shat it and want the £15-20 mill. Think Brendan has been told no signings unless Dembele is sold. He looked pissed off as a result. It is utterly ridiculous a player of his quality is benched when the manager clearly has zero intention playing him.
No chance.

If there’s no money available other than from selling Moussa, he would have resigned.

People just making shampoo up now
Why would he have resigned?

Genuine question.

We have this opinion that Rodgers won't accept any shampooe etc but there really isn't any evidence of that being true at any point in his managerial career.

Considering the money we’ve earned since he’s been here and the players we’ve gotten off the wage bill.

We’ve barely added to the squad. Ntcham was the only signing of note last season other than the loan for Roberts.

After all that, if the board said there’s no money available, then, he’d be off his nut, not to walk.

On last season's form, he's a £30 million player who would be knocking on the door of starting for an EPL team. At the moment, he's worth maybe half that from a team fighting relegation in the EPL. A bit like Armstrong, he's maybe thought he's a dead cert to sign for a move to the EPL, only to find that it isn't quite that simple. Maybe he's overplayed his hand but has realised that the seriously big teams aren't interested anymore.

If Davies' comments weren't off the cuff - I think it's more likely he'd ben given the go-ahead to say what he did - it seems that BR has decided that Dembele needs to be moved on for the overall good of the team. The Sanchez saga at Arsenal is instructive: if a player wants to leave then sometimes, hard as it might be to do it, it's best to let them move on. It won't be the perfect move for him, or the perfect price for the club, but it could be the best available compromise.

Looks like he is offski. Set his agent a deadline to find a new club and if nothing happens he stays until the summer.
They already have one. That’s why there is a transfer window

If we’re looking for top money for him it’s a strange way to go about things . Something has happened internally and BR & CD has had enough
It's not a strange way to go if a move has been lined up already and thats what this smacks of. Its just the club protecting itself.
Shouldn’t be on the bench then.
Exactly.

There’s something very fishy about the sudden Dembeles head has been turned chat.

If I was to take an estimated guess it looks like the club are trying to push him out the door this window.

Maybe his injury record and lack of playing time has spooked the board and they’d rather take an inflated ‘panic bid’ from downsouth now than run the risk of his season fizzeling out and value dropping come the summer.

He’s got a better goals to game ratio than last year.

He’s also scored goals v Man City, Gladbach, and PSG.

The last striker to have a list like that was the greatest of our modern era.

Moussa Dembele will be a huge loss to Celtic.

Can't help but feel we're handling this very strangely.

Potentially the biggest asset we've ever had and a very good footballer who at the moment we seem to be trying to sell through the press (surely affecting value at some stage) and despite being in the 18 on matchdays has no chance of getting on the pitch. Strange situation all round. Injuries, rotation and form have all played a part for Moussa this season and overall it has been disappointing so far but on the face of it - which of course may not be the full picture - it looks like he's being harshly treated at the moment.

so do i but not sure if brendan or dembele will be delighted with that

ive no doubt he would go if a decent club comes in but i dont see him fancying any of the clubs that seem likely to bid right now. always the chance of a crazy offer on the last day though so we better have plenty of backup options ready :twitch:

His saunter up the track when told to warm up was sad to see.
That was shocking to see. Great player on his day, but it makes my blood boil to see any player lucky enough to wear the Hoops to simply go through the motions.

We've been as good for him as he has for us. Had he joined Spurs when we signed him he'd be getting as much first-team action as that former Swansea striker.

Will fondly remember his goals v the Huns & Man City but the end can't
come quickly enough now.

Rodgers will protect the club; fans; our image etc - he's clearly pissed off - maybe not solely at Moussa but also the agent?
wtf? him, jozo and bitton were all the exact same watching the game
That doesn't suit the narrative but.

When people are resorting to sweeping generalisations about another a complete strangers mental state, attitude and psychological profile based on a few seconds of TV footage, we might as well start consulting the haruspices to determine what's what.

We need to make a decision. Sell him or play him. He's too good to be on the bench and is far better than his competitors for a starting place.

I don`t understand why Rodgers would have him in the squad if he`s a cert to leave

If he`s definitely a goner, he shouldn`t be on the bench / in the team

Looks like we've thrown him under a bus. There's also a few rumours going about the dressing room.

Went in early last night and watched Moussa warming up. Obviously he's a sub but he was always on the edge of the group. Particularly at half time when the subs were doing sprints he was on his own behind the group. I'd go as far as to say it looked like he's been ostracised.

Very disappointed in how Celtic are handling this.
