Going by both Brendan's and Chris Davie's comments we are looking to get him out the door. They are hanging the lad out to dry with what they are saying. Either he wants to go and the club are fed up with him or we want him to go and are trying to engineer it.
Yes the comments do have that feel about them. That would tend to support the rumour that Moussa didn't fancy Brighton and knocked them back. Difficulty for Celtic is if he leaves it late in the window we've little time to react - so I can understand a pro-active stance here.
We've got Edouard and Griffiths

No need to panic buy.

We've got enough to win the treble with what we have.

I don't see the need to buy a striker for the EL. No point laying out decent money on a striker when Edouard has still to prove himself.

But Celtic keep their transfer dealings under wraps............unless we're selling obviously
That's true.
How dare we try to get the best deal possible for us. We should be more corinthian and let him go for free and pay his taxi there.

Feel that Davies left dembele out to dry a wee bit with his quotes (certainly the ones attributed to him anyway that I read). Unnecessary imo.

We’ve had enough to win the treble every season for years tbh, but you want to give yourselves the best possible chance. We aren’t doing that at present, it would seem. It would appear we are happy to make do and get by. I hope I’m wrong.

Wouldn't be surprised if that tackle against Motherwell (Cipre?) convinced him that staying in Scotland wasn't good for his long term prospects or even his health.

£20 million+ and a decent sell on clause feels like a good deal to me, especially if his head isn't quite in it.

I'd really hoped we would sell him to a proper big club but doesn't look like that will be the case. He's not quite kicked on the way we would have hoped this year.

AT this stage I’d probably take 20mill + with a sell on.

We need a number 10 whether Moussa goes or not.

Perhaps Moussa has 'not kicked on' because of his injuries and because of BR's rotation of the strikers when Moussa has been fit

Probably part of it, but them's the breaks.

His injuries are part of the reason I'd be happy with £20 million+.

would obviously rather he stayed, got the head down & we can look at it again in the summer.

if not & hes not interested in staying past this window, then we better not sell without a replacement signed & ready to go straight into the first team.

I don't see the value in advertising the player is unsettled, will tempt clubs to take a punt at a lower price knowing the player wants away, I think that's amateur and a mistake by Davies.

If he wants to go then he has to go, he's the best player at the club but he looks like a moody character and will eventually be detrimental to the rest of the squad. If we get 20m+ then that's great business in 18 months, it will be the pinnacle of our buy them young, develop and sell them on philosophy of the last few years.

Best memories are v the huns and Man City, where he was absolutely dynamite, this season has been utterly forgettable.

I know a boy who is close with Moussa, he text Moussa on Xmas Day saying Brighton? Moussa replied with       no chance

I reckon Moussa would be happy to move on, but it will be at a decent level, he will decide.

Yeah similar to what I am hearing, open to a move but only move to a club he feels are bigger and better for him than Celtic, otherwise happy to stay put for now. Makes a change i guess from our best players running off to the likes of Southampton as the first opportunity.
