If/when Dembele goes down south, he'll follow a path similar to the rest of our players that have gone down into the EPL. Big clubs want Premiership ready players, and by Premiership ready players they're looking at regulars from the Champions League knock out phases/regulars that are performing extremely well in the EPL.

He'll need to do a couple of years at a Southampton level club before moving up; on saying that I could see Chelsea/Man City sign him and loan him out for years just so that he's on their books similar to how Chelsea treated Lukaku.

The PSG goal was a swing and a deflection from a rehearsed move FFS.
it was a goal in the cl. bizarre to try and downplay it

a "rehearsed move" ffs
The point is that you can't simply bring up goals scored in a competition to argue a players quality if some of the goals in question are down to luck rather than quality like his goal v PSG or his first v City. The same thing used to happen with Samaras too.

What do you mean by ready? As in he's not ready to play 45 games a season and be the top man? If he was signed that isn't what he would be asked to do right now.

Dembele would be a great option for a few of the bigger Premier League clubs right now.
These teams won't buy him because they won't view him as ready.

You've practically said the same thing yourself. Whether we like it or not, top EPL teams or European teams won't take much of a look at Dembele until he proves himself consistently at a higher level than he is at just now.
He'll likely have to sign for an Everton or a Southampton burn it up by getting 12/15 goals before people take him as seriously as you do now. The boy clearly has talent but at the moment I don't see big teams taking the risk with the readies for him at this stage.

I don't think those teams are wrong. You do. No big deal.

We've been led to believe that pretty much every club in England - including Man United and Chelsea have sent scouts up to look at him.

Spurs tried to sign him.

Etc etc.

Yep.

He's not ready for those clubs yet.

You seen Lukaku?

Not sure about them buying players who are ready.

Chelsea have the population of a small country on their books but only 11 can play.

Liverpool once signed Charlie Adam.

A fit and on form Dembele would fit in well with most of the 'big' sides in The Epl.

:twitch: Unfortunately. Certainly not much difference from what Lukaku offers that a fully flying Dembele couldn't and more.

He's well on his way to becoming a top level player - if he isn't already.
He isn't at the moment but as you say could well be on his way. Needs to put the injuries behind him.

The problem for the big clubs in England now is that the other teams are so cash-rich with the TV deals that they don't need to sell their best players for anything other than obscene amounts of money. The top clubs are going to start having to take more risks as they can't afford to constantly spend £75m on centre halfs from Southampton or poor strikers from Everton.

2 and a half years left on contract so no need whatsoever to sell unless our valuation is met. If bids are made and valuation isn’t met be should stay . People on here who undervalu him thankfully haven’t a say

It's cool guys, Nakasboots has him sold for £15m AND can practically assure us that he won't amount to anything.

I'm sure his next move, whenever it comes, will be another stepping stone type to a lower ranked English Premier league club. Following in the footsteps of VVD and Wanyama if you like.
