Give him time, people writing him off too quickly. I agree, he should have scored last night. However he was getting into good positions and his link up play at times was good. He needs a few more gmes to get up to speed but I feel that when he scores his first, he will go on to score a barrel load.

I´ve been a bit underwhelmed by him so far, tbh. Needs to work on his finishing (a lot) and in most games so far he´s been invisible for long spells, which suggest his movement might not be that good (although made some good runs yesterday). Right now, I think Ciftci offers just as much.

Won alot of headers and flicked on for Leigh. Although his first touch was heavy at times I thought he had good feet, tried to be positive with his movement and worked hard.

His shooting let him down, but I thought he was very promising. If he was a finished article we couldnt afford him.

I think he'll come good, still a bit raw and not fully fit
Looks like he could be a decent target man and a bit of a foil for Griffiths
The chances he missed last night could be put down to a combination of lack of match sharpness and putting a bit of pressure on himself and trying too hard

I think Dembele is currently better than Ciftci and will get much better in the next few weeks.
That said I could be biased since I think Ciftci is a total donkey.

he will be a great signing for us , I'm sure it was just lack of match practice, he was deadly for Fulham last year and I have every confidence he will repeat that for us very soon.

I liked what I saw. His link up play with Leigh was pretty good especially given that they've only played together maybe four times. He had many more chances that I've ever seen Ciftci create an although he didn't take them he is , at least, in the right place at the right time. As longs he doesn't put too much pressure on himself he should come good.

Looks quick and strong enough, but his touch and composure have been really poor thus far.

It is very early days though.

Sure you are wearing the same glasses when you see the two of them play? Solely based on preseason so far, I think Ciftci has been offering just as much with his physics. Dembele is perhaps a bigger talent and will become better with time, but havn´t seen much of it so far.

I felt he suffered from us playing wingers on the opposite a little. There were numerous times we were moving the ball forward and pace and he was getting forward in to the box in space just waiting on a ball being whipped in in front of him to get on the end of only for the wingers to cut in, allowing the defence to get back in to shape.

We can't rely on him and Cifti if Griffiths gets injured or losses form. We need another striker.
How could you possibly know that? After 2 games?

Was just about to post the second part of that, no goals yet but I think him and Griffiths will strike up a good partnership. Might be more of a player to set up goals for others but I'm sure once he gets going he will turn out a good signing. Still just a kid really remember.

ciftci is now and always will be a truly dreadful footballer. he was bought by your hero despite everyone with eyes knowing this. to even compare him to dembele even after just 2 games shows what a truly poor judge you really are and have been since you joined this forum

He just turned 20 the other week, been with Celtic 2 weeks, we're still in our pre-season, and he did actually score a goal last week against the Imps (not his fault the blind ref gave a foul for the goalie jumping into Moussa).

Give the guy a chance, he's not the finished article, just joined a new club, and already there's signs of a good player in there. Cost us 500k, must be one of the cheapest forwards we've spent money on in a long time.

And off course Zidane doesn't have a clue what he's talking about saying he'll be a star (what would he know about what makes a good forward ;) )

Pendy 12... "I know there are people who have never played football that watch it for whatever reason".

Why would you need to have played football to want to watch it? Bizarre remark.
Not really, but unless you have played the game and understand it, you don't have a full grasp of it.
Jose Mourinho
Andre Villas Boas
Arrigo Sacchi

Never played. Know nothing about football
