Interesting suggestion from Phil Mcg re Dembele....that he doesn’t trust his hamstring not to go :ph43r:
An article about Celtic?

Our form didn't dip in December 2016, we won 8 of 9 games, with a draw away to Man City. We were superb.
We may not have lost games , but our form dipped . We were sleepwalking through games in December 2016.
20 for 7 against, 3 of those in one game. I thought we were excellent but I can see why we BR wanted replacements, it was a hectic schedule.

It'll be interesting to see what we do if MD goes, I think 3 strikers has maybe worked against us this season, none of them have been able to get any consistency.

I think it's a matter of when, not if, Dembele goes. I'd hate to see him go to some mid-table English mob though and certainly not for a penny less than our board value him at.

No idea whether he wants to be here or not. He's been below-par in recent months but here's hoping he can kick in on in the second half of the season. Given the money that gets thrown around down south, getting back to goal-scoring form will ensure he goes for a tidy sum as and when the time comes.
Would you rather he went to a mid level EPL team for a fortune
Or to a big club for less?
A big club for less.

Players need to know that they can come here and get a move to one of the big clubs. It would do wonders for our recruitment.

Cause I think Celtic selling players for big bucks should be a means to an end and not an end in itself.

Our strategy for the foreseeable future will be to bring in young players and punt them on after 2-3 years for big profits. If one of these players goes to Man United or Chelsea then it increases the chances of us getting the better young players in the beginning.

So whilst I would like us to keep Dembele and would have loved for him to be in a team with Van Dijk, Wanyama, Forster etc. it's just not going to happen.

Is he still walking off the pitch?

Seriously though I wouldn't read too much into that. He's done it before.

But he looks to me as if he needs to lose weight off his belly and that's been the case for much of his time at Celtic. Would that have anything to do with hamstring injuries? I remember watching videos of him at Fulham after he signed and he had explosive pace. Maybe he's adapted his game to suit our style or teams sit deeper but I've not seen much of it recently - or if he's showing it, it's not sticking much in my memory.

He's absolutely ripped. There's no fat on him.

He’s carrying too much muscle then. He needs a consistent run of games at the start of the season, to get himself lean enough to play well.

Similar to the likes of Hartson. Moussa is a big lad and it takes him a bit longer than others to get to peak fitness. He’s not had those run of games and it shows.

I thought he looked like he was carrying weight too, until a recent goal celebration that moved his top up (had a tight top underneath) showed it looked pretty solid muscle. Think it's just his physique. The lack of 'explosive pace' more likely to be making sure he doesn't do his hammy again. Am assuming he's gone already, maybe best now rather than Summer, allow a replacement time to bed in.

If you are going to sell something, sell it for as much as possible.

I think in most cases, if a player is coming to us on the basis that they'll get a big move to England, I honestly don't think the club they are sold to is hugely relevant to them. And in the case of Van Dijk, they'll see that with the right first move, they'll get a big English club move eventually if they play well enough. In any case, the colossal monopoly money wages darn sarf will compensate them for whatever club they move to.

I can see him doing a "VVD". Going to a mid level English club and then hoping for an eventual move to a big club. We'd better have another good sell on written up.

If he took a left foot strike first time against PSG in the second half when put in on goal he'd be gone for £30m. As it is clubs are uncertain about his potential. In today's market, 15 rising to 25 on performance/appearances is fair. I don't like him but he was an astute signing.
