And why hasn't he had a ran of games ? Its because his form is miles away from the standard that saw him score 5 times against today's opposition in games during the first half of last season.

No one is saying he is a carthouse, a bad buy or a disgrace to the jersey. What some of us are saying is that he has been poor for a large part of this season with one or two exceptions - Pittodrie being the best example when he has played something like his old self.

Today he was offering nothing and during the second half was being beaten by two very very ordinary centre backs. He can have no complaints about getting subbed.
No - it's because he's been injured and largely kept for the big games. He had a bad injury at the start of the year and we obviously didnt want to rush him back. He then picked up an injury vs Anderlecht and came in as part of a rotation that saw us give Edouard more time to shine. Dembele - coincidently for someone who you are suggesting isnt getting a run due to his form - is the player selected to play vs Bayern, PSG, Anderlecht, Aberdeen and Rangers.

Maybe thats why his goal tally isn't bigger as well. He tends to play vs the better teams.
The manager has been rotating Edouard, Griffiths and Dembele of late. Yes Moussa has started the bigger games and his form has been miles away from the player of this time 12 months ago. In three games against Sevco from Sept to Dec 16, he tortured their defence and scored 5 times. Today he got bossed by Bates and Wilson - the latter was on a booking for 75 minutes of the game.

If you can't see that (and I think I'm stating the bleeding obvious) the we'll have to agree to differ.

I think the majority of Celtic and Rangers fans would accept that Celtic were miles ahead in the first half of the game today and should have been 2-3 up going in at HT.

The reasons for that is because the ball was able to stick upfront. We were able to build attacks through Dembele coming deeper. It helped that the midfield showed up in the first half as well.

Dembele came off in the 60th minute.

So did he get bossed for the whole game or just 15 minutes in the second half? :ponder:

At no point during the game did I think Dembele was particularly good. The chances came in the first half because we dominated possession and were picking up the second balls. The best chances followed runs by Sinclair, Tierney and Armstrong who got in behind them. That just didn't happen at all in the 2nd half. As the first half wore on, Wilson (who got taken apart a week ago by Kris Boyd) was winning everything against Dembele. The substitution was no shock to me and most other folk who were watching it.

As I said, if you think that he had a good game, is in good form and deserved to stay on the park then we will have to agree to disagree.

Nah mate, MD was pish the majority of the balls played to him bounced off him or he took 2/3 touches to get the ball under control, the goals we should have scored weren't down to his play at all, he was mince as he has been for most of the season!

Were you watching it in the house or at the game?

Genuine question.

I'm not insinuating your opinion is any less valid than mine because of that btw. Just know from personal experience that being at the game and being in the house can often show two different things. 5 of us at the game today were surprised Dembele came off and after the game spoke about how well he held it up or at least competed for it when it came into him.

I was in McChuills. No one was surprised at the substitution around where I was standing. Far more surprise at N'tcham being held back until the 70th minute. My disappointment with Dembele is that he is capable of so much better than that performance today.

Utterly convinced from both his performance and the way he walked off the park today that that’s the last time we’ll see the bold Moussa in a Celtic shirt.

Possibly, and let's hope he has not devalued his transfer fee because, by his standards, he was poor today.

I was at the game and at least 5 of the guys around me were shouting for him to get hooked and to get Griffiths on from probably 60 mins onwards.

Have been really disappointed with his application since returning from injury. Although his performance away to Aberdeen was really encouraging - I thought he was back and with a point to prove, but alas that looked like the exception.

I think his future is already decided.

Extremely poor today, with the only positive really being that he was far from the only one.

Couldn't have been shouting for it for long then as that is precisely when he came off.

Given that that there was no measurable difference after Griffiths replaced him, I think the root of the problem was with the service.

Thought he looked injured when he went off personally, explaining his gingerly walk off.

His performance was poor, but he didn’t have much to go on. I would much rather have him around for Zenit and the domestic challenges that lie await between now and May rather than trying to sell in January and trying to find a suitable replacement in what little time we may have for the rest of next month.
