Looked like a big donkey at times
Didn't see that at all. Thought he played the position well.

Will be a handful for opposition defenders and gives us a long-ball option which could be useful in Europe.
Agree.

Apart from not hitting the net, I thought he was fine.

Could be a Larsson or a Wayne Biggins - time will tell.

Pendy 12... "I know there are people who have never played football that watch it for whatever reason".

Why would you need to have played football to want to watch it? Bizarre remark.
Not really, but unless you have played the game and understand it, you don't have a full grasp of it.

Plenty of folk who have played football at a high level have absolutely no understanding of it.

Plenty of folk who have never played football at any decent level are quite capable of having a grasp of it.

I'm excited about him. Trying too hard and overthinking it a bit, but he looks a good addition. Think he'll score loads, especially if we stick with two up top. Whoever compared him to Amido et al is an idiot.

Maybe in your experience but not in mine. If people couldn't see that Dembele was making good runs and working off Griffiths but label him a donkey because his touch wasn't great after 2 weeks of pre season then they don't know much about football.

That statement isn't beyond the grasp of someone who has never played top level football but is clearly beyond the intellectual arc of for example Mark Hateley.

Thought that save the keeper made from him in the first half was a great one. I think he's looked decent - a far better option than the raft of diddies who have preceded him. We always ask during each window to bring in guys who will improve our first XI and make us stronger. Dembele provides that in my opinion.

He also had the ball in his hands when the 'penalty' was awarded, so I think he'll be hitting them.

Anyone remember the stick Hartson got when he signed? At times it looked like he'd never seen a football but once he got going he turned out not bad.
Dembele will be fine, he's trying to hard just now and you could see the frustration growing as the hand went on. I'd be concerned if I wasn't seeing anything from him, but I am.

The space he is always looking to create for himself is a good sign. People writing him off after a couple of games :ffs:

I actually thought he looked quite good in both the games against Imps. He will get 1 and the rest will follow. Playing with too much weight on his shoulders just now.

Just an opinion, so much good work is done by players off the ball. Moving to allow space for others or pulling defenders across the pitch. A lot of it wouldn't be seen by people who concentrate on watching ball and who has it. It's not a criticism, we're all there to support the team.

Personally, I've not seen a lot from him to be excited about. Griffiths and Forrest - and it goes without saying, Roberts - were more impressive. But, better players than him have taken more than a handful of games to settle in and get used to new teammates and a new manager.

How can someone who hasn't had a glittering career in tennis for example, coach a top ten player? Because you don't need to be able to do it in order to tell someone how to do it.

I've not been overly impressed but likewise I haven't written him off. He's only 20 and has only played a few games ffs.

Last night I just thought he needed to put his foot through the ball rather than trying to place it. He also would've had a really good chance if Griffiths had nodded it down to him (like he did for Griffiths) rather than try to loop a header towards the far corner.

Onwards and upwards.

We can't rely on him and Cifti if Griffiths gets injured or losses form. We need another striker.

You should just organise a big game of KDS Workd Cuppie and then whoever wins that is right about everything and everyone else is wrong.
