Did I read that right? Someone says when we sell him 50% of his fee goes to Fulham, and 40% to his agent?

EDIT: Surely sarcasm. It's early and I'm back in work
Yes, someone on FF said it. It’s now an accepted FACT on there. Lawwell rubbished it a while ago.
On FF they have us down as making an eventual loss on the sale after VAT, agent fees, sell on clauses, Dembele’s cut etc

Never change Rangers. Sevconomics is alive and well. If only they’d paid such rigorous attention to their own finances their original club might have still been around.

Yea... my comments earlier on were a mixture of the chat from Rangers fans I know and online. Exaggerated to emphasise their madness.

On Dembele, he had the chance to join Spurs, but I feel his agent has Dembele's genuine interest at heart, and is looking for Dembele and himself to make money long-term, as opposed to a quick buck. That is why a move to Brighton makes zero sense. It isn't like Wanyama/Forster/Van Dijk going to an established Premier League club, Brighton could quite conceivably go down and he'd be back to two years ago, in the Championship. Even going to Southampton today would be a bad decision for him as they are on going downwards. He left PSG for Fulham, I believe to break into a team early. He came to us to move up and play in Europe, and get a move. His progression has not been at a level where if he goes to a Chelsea or Man Utd, he is their first choice. If he continues making decisions like he has so far, I can imagine going to Everton, possibly Leicester. Settled Premier League clubs where he can get decent game time. Otherwise, maybe a move abroad to AC Milan or something. He will go for more than £18m, also. It probably won't be for the £40m, but I think it'll be nearer 30 than 20. Every team is looking for a guy who can play lone striker and he has all the natural attributes to do that. All he really needs to work on is his finishing.

No way Pedro do a deal like that FFS
He was out of contract with Fulham, hence the low fee when we signed him. They’ll be due a small cut of any sale (about 5% if Football Manager is anything to go by  ), but feck all else.

Surely they are due feck all as we basically got him on a free, when his contract expired. Fulham have already got their development fee(500k)

Sell on clauses would only come into play if Fulham stipulated this in the transfer, however this was not a transfer it was a pre contract agreement. :ponder:

Teams that took part in the development of a player are due a small percentage of all transfers up to a certain point I'm sure.

This could just be in England though.

Not sure how it affects us.

yeah you're right but it isn't a huge percentage - 1% or something

When players under the age of 24 move club there’s automatically a small fee due to any other clubs they’ve previously played for. I actually think PSG would be due something as well as he was there before Fulham. It’s only about 5% of the overall total though and Fulham aren’t due anything else.

Not sure.

Moussa himself does not want to go to Brighton.

As expected Celtic are desperate for him to go to a top EPL side, which would break the current trend of them going to a mediocre EPL type for less money.

I can see him going to Everton and wouldn’t be surprised if James McCarthy came to us as part of the deal
I think that’s his most likely destination if he goes in January. I don’t think we’re getting McCarthy though- too expensive and injury prone plus someone down there will still happily chuck £50k a week at him.

The training fee is either 0.5% or 1% I can’t remembrr which for each year spent at a club between 16-21. Think that’s a fifa rule.

Not that I want to see him go but if we do sell Dembele to a top EPL side then it gives us a fantastic selling point for any potential future transfers, you do it at Celtic and the EPL money men will be watching, cutting out the mid table mediocrity with the likes of Southampton.

What happened when we sold Adam Matthews?

Aren't his and Dembeles deals similar, pre contract, cross border both similar ages when their respective deals happened?

Alardyce said in his interview yesterday that he needs a goalscorer. Pretty sure Moussa will be on his radar
