People thinking we will get double that are in for a dissapointment. That’s the starting figure and will go up a little but anywhere near 25 and I’ll be surprised. He’s been poor for the main this year and not kicked on as we had hoped. All the potential is there but 35-40m is fantasy land imo.
There's always one :ffs:
If you disagree. Then disagree and put your arguments forward , no need to be a smart arse. I hope I’m wrong and your right but I just can’t see it.
I think you’re bang on tbf.👍

Didn’t Sky spend most of last January claiming various clubs were going to activate Dembeles release clause even though the clause doesn’t exist?

You have to ask yoursef why would Dembele go from a one team league, where he plays for said team, to a one team league where he'd be playing for chaff? Especially chaff like Brighton who's only claims to fame are that wiggy permafailure Gordon Smith missing a sitter in a final and being on the end of homophobic singing from opponents.
While Brighton fans will no doubt think their promotion to the bright lights of their one team league makes them relevent in football outside Sussex it's just not true. Despite them no doubt having a new found arrogance that all promoted teams to the EPL seem to get as part of their welcome pack, I wish them luck in the relegation battle ahead. All those years at the Withdene must've been torture for the hardcore.

I would not be surprised if one of Moussa's agents leaked about a real bid that had been rejected and said it had been accepted.

Always one what?
Dembele is still very much a diamond in the rough. He is prone to injury to the point he has barely been fully match fit all year.
Established CL striker?Aye?
Anything north of £15M represents a great bit of business for what Celtic have shelled out on his transfer and wages.
I would expect l the usual sell on clause to apply to give us a wee bonus if he realises his potential and gets a big move. His development this year has been negligible.
You're stuck in 2015 bud, prices have skyrocketed.
Yep. 15m gets you a young player with 5 first team games under his belt these days.

They’ve bid for him. We’ve turned it down.
They’ll make another bid for him. It still won’t be enough.

He’s no interest in joining Brighton. And his agents, I would strongly suggest, don’t have Brighton featuring highly in the list of his next possibl destinations.

He could probably aim for a Burnley/Everton level league position team, and if he does, we should be looking at more than 18m comfortably. Although he may think a couple of years at relegation fodder is what gets him the really big move later on, to a Liverpool or something. Assuming he is motivated by success and not purely cash, and I think he is, based on what Rodgers has said about him.

Did post a few weeks ago that the club and him have agreed if right club and fee he will go January.

Relative of mine works at club and he has indicated he wishes to move if both are right.

That would be the case with any player.

In this case, the right club certainly isn't Brighton, and the right fee is not £18m.
FWIW he met the club at gis request to ask/say he wishes to go if it ticks set boxes

I've thought he looks as though he's carrying a good few extra kilos this season. However, he's had a good season with the French u-21s and he scored against PSG. So he's still managed to hit the headlines but he hasn't hit the heights as he did last season. He needs to just get the head down and work on his fitness and everything else will fall into place for him.
agree with this injury and sharpness are not what they were last season
