There are other leagues, however if we're to get the tens of millions for him that many seem to be taking for granted that we'll get, he'll need to go down south or to a super-club on the continent; once again, he's not good enough yet to play for those teams. Other European sides won't pay the 20-30 million that we could get from England, there's no way they will. Our best bet is to offload him to the EPL to maximise the dosh we can get. At the moment, that means to a team outside the big sides there, of which Everton are one. They're also a fairly decent-sized team, just in a bit of a rut. They spent a fortune on Lukaku a few years back, and have a lot of financial backing these days. They also need a no.9-type striker.

I don't think he'll be sold this window because he's probably not shown enough to justify any teams offering the money we'd be looking for. The gamble is that he rediscovers his form and is then sold on in the summer for the fee that we're looking for. |

He was excellent away in Paris and Munich (albeit for a shorter time). We can easily ask for 25-30 million and a team will pay it. If anything the January window is the time to sell. Teams are desperate. Especially down South. In saying that, I would like to keep Moussa till the summer. |

I'd say its the opposite, only being able to sell to the EPL is what keeps the price down. They know they can come to us and offer us a pittance as no other clubs from other leagues will be offering an alternative destination. |

Which teams outside the tiny group that always compete for the Champions's League do you think would give us £20-30m+ for Dembele in January? Or do you think he is good enough to play for the likes of PSG, Madrid, etc? |

Anyone getting Dembele for 20-30million will be getting a steal. We will have learned from VVD. Injuries have hampered his season but they haven't turned him into a lesser player or affected his potential. So his price won't have plummeted. Better he stayed and we added to the defence in January. If we can get some solidity at the back it's almost pointless (in terms of having a crack at the Europa League ) if we punt our best striker. Plus we have a league and cup to win. Edited by Ned Rise, 14 Dec 2017, 12:17 PM.

He's not even as good as VVD in relation to each position imo. I think we'll get 20m with a few add ons. |

Milan, Juventus, Monaco, Roma, Dortmund, Inter, Sevilla all spent upwards of £50m in the summer, most of them significantly more Teams like Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Wolfsburg, Napoli have also been amongst the biggest spenders in Europe in the last 5-6 years, then you've got sides like RB Leipzig, Zenit St. Petersburg who are prone to spunk a lot of dough on up and coming guys. Now, whether Dembele would be interested in any of them is a different discussion but my point is there's more to life than waiting for the scraps from the EPL table. |

Juve: Dembele doesn't get near their forward line ahead of Higuain or Dybala. Also a team who tend to buy ready-made talent, not players who may or may not become top stars. I'd class them as equivalent to Barca, Chelsea, etc. Monaco: sure they have the cash, but Dembele strikes me as more ambitious than that. Roma: Dzeko, also a bit of a selling club at the moment due to financing their new stadium. Dortmund: only if they sold Aubameyang, but if they do that could be a great destination for Moussa; a club which signs and develops talent. Inter: Icardi is the captain, Moussa doesn't play there. Sevilla: they spent just shy of £20m on Luis Muriel, same position, but I don't see them having the financial power to drop the same or more on Dembele. Milan: shampoohouse of a club, potentially in serious financial trouble soon due to behind the scenes shenanigans. Atletico: just signed Costa, Moussa doesn't play. Valencia: not sure about them at the moment, I know they have improved a lot of late but they were and possibly are still in deep financial shampoo RE building a new stadium but having no buyer for the old one. Again, don't see them spunking upwards of £20m on Dembele. Wolfsburg: minted, could afford it. Napoli: maybe, tho Mertens, Callejon and Insigne are going to be first choice. I know there are some other options, but the different discussion you mention comes into play there; I don't see Moussa going to Zenit, or Wolfsburg, I don't think he's completely money-driven; otherwise we'd have lost him before now. Any team in the EPL could drop £20m on him without it really being a big deal, that's where the likely bid is going to come from. Edited by dannyclyro, 15 Dec 2017, 12:08 AM.

The English league is were the money is and the top four / six teams there probably wouldn't take a punt on Dembele. No matter how well they play up here on in Europe for us the English seem to dismiss anyone playing here in Scotland. That's why our players end up going to Southampton or Swansea and once they have played half a season down there they then seemed to be linked to a "bigger" club. So we may get about £15 million for Dembele but with heavy sell on clauses. A cracking for a player we have paid £500k for less than two years ago. I would prefer it if he stayed, helped us through to the end of the season, scoring goals and winning games and cups with us before trucking on down the road. |

The valuations of Dembele in here are depressing. £15m for a player of his quality and potential is robbery. The bidding should start at 30m. No more getting shafted by absolute chancers. |
