Don't think there's any issue with his desire. He was clearly not fit last night and probably shouldn't have started.
Maybe it's just his playing style, but he always looked like he couldn't be arsed in the run of the mill SPL matches, really only raising it for Europe or the bigger games in Scotland.
Not a dig but for someone who looks like he can't be arsed in domestic games he has an amazing scoring record for us.
Kris Boyd had some scoring record but was/is a lazy bastard.

Edouard at least pressures the defence.

Edouard should be in at the moment.

Nah, I'd agree with this, his 'playing style' changes markedly in the bigger games. Always good to have big game players obviously, but it's look increasingly like we should maybe have cashed in last Summer if the offers were there. His value has now dropped, will need a few good Europa League performances to get back again. Use the break from Europe now to get him fit for that, Edourde and Griffiths should cover until then well enough.

Might get £3m for him at this rate
Shh! Don't let Chris Houghton hear you.

BRIGHT LIGHTS Celtic star Moussa Dembele wanted by Brighton who are weighing up £20million January bid, according to reports
Dembele bagged 32 goals for Celtic – including a hat-trick on his Old Firm debut against Rangers - last season as they secured a record-breaking treble
Spoiler: click to toggle
Jokers!

When he goes it will be to a team with far greater European pedigree than effing Brighton and for far more than £20 million.

Were it not for the financially bloated league they play in, Brighton would simply be a tin pot club, which they practically are anyway - save for an inflated EPL TV deal.

Chase yourselves tw@ts!

dembele is a great player but he needs players in the vicinity to lay off to - and if they are not there he needs to hold up more than he did the other night

he'll be off in summer so we should enjoy him now

i'd have thought he won't play in qualifiers if that cup ties him for the cl - given teams who are likely to come in for him - is that the case?

It's almost as though good players don't feel the need to run around like headless chickens for 90 minutes.

We have several players who haven't hit the heights of last season, but some of the stuff here & on the Armstrong thread is OTT.

Maybe now Europe is out the way for a while, we can get a a head of steam up again.

I'm confident we'll see players returning to form.

I thought the other night he had it tough. He had nobody around him and was isolated. The ball wasn't even being hit up to his feet, a lot of high balls which heading was the only option.

I think people don't like that he doesn't celebrate like a nutter when scoring against St Johnstone or whoever. Take it as him not being interested. Been like that since he came here.

He had players to lay off to the other night and frequently missed them. Sometimes playing the ball behind them leaving us in trouble. Not alone in that obviously but not innocent either.

in european games he has to run the channels to get us up the pitch. in domestic games this isnt required of hin as much so he can stay central .

I laughed at a few people for saying this previously but I'm getting to the point I would be happy to punt him in January for £20m. It would avoid a whole Summer of nonsense.

I think that's a good assessment of it; he does celebrate a lot more in the big games so it's a reasonable assumption to make that he cares more about doing so in them than against the diddy teams.

He's had one good game v Aberdeen.

Other than that, he's looked well off the pace.

He doesn't deserve to start at the moment and when he does, he isn't doing anything to justify it.

Exactly, he needs a run of games injury free.

Dembele is an excellent player who will only get better.
