I thought that we would attract quality players here with BR as the new man in charge. I hoped he would be allowed to sign players himself and not be pushed around like Ronny was.
This signing doesn`t make me happy at all. Dembele aint the man to shoot us into the Champions League again. A friend of mine is a Fulham supporter and i asked him what he feels about this and how he rates him as a player.
He said: There is a reason why he didn`t end up in a big club in a big league. If he is SUCH A BIG talent why did no one else sign when he was out of contract? Wouldn`t cost Tottenham more than 1 weeks wage for a average player in their team to sign him
The kid has potential but unfortunately he`s got a ego that is bigger than the talent. Very frustrating player to watch because if he aint having the day he is barely working for the team. He went 11 games without scoring in 14/15 and last season he had 13 games in a row without goals where he was completely uninterested in contributing to the team. 17 goals is good and makes many think of him as a bargain but look behind the numbers and see what we get against because of his attitude and he aint worth more than a striker who scores 9-10 goals. Football is a two way game. If Cauley (Woodrow) looses the ball he works like a champ and break up the counter attack. Moussa just throws his arms out and walk back to the offside line. Learn the kid that he aint more important than the team and he could be a very good player in Scotland.
Seems we got a very raw talent here guys. Hopefully we can make something out of him but i would prefer a striker who has experience and can handle the pressure. In a CL playoff we need those who are on 100% for 90 minutes. Not just the 13min they are working for themselfes. Hope i am wrong but not what i expected from BR. My Fulham supporting mate reckons you're full of wind and pish.

Assume everything you say it true, multiply is by 2, and it still doesn't matter. The money we are spending (on a player widely regarded as one of the most promising young footballers in Europe) is negligible when compared to previous manager's attempts to sign a striker. And I include his wages in that.

Just a blog, but still a decent read on the Dembele transfer. But obviously he's not that good, and noone else wanted him...

A player with an ego bigger than his talent wouldn't have signed for a Scottish club.

Which striker within our price range would you like to see us sign? First of all to i would like to say that i dont know much about Dembele. That is why i asked and posted what my Fulham mate told me.
If i were to sign players for Celtic i would taken a look at the players who are/were out of contract first and not just strikers. Lots of quality and potential who got released in June and these are the ones i noticed first and i haven`t even looked at who else is free.
Cheick Diabate: Age 28.. Club: Bordeaux.. 127 matches.. 79 from start and 50 goals
Steven Fletcher: Age 29.. Club Sunderland.. 94 matches. 72 from start and 23 goals
Nick Powell: Age 22.. Club Man U Talented young lad. A no brainer on free transfer imo.
Gaston Ramirez: Age 25.. Club Southampton. Never quite made it there as a record signing but a really good player. Was impressive for Boro on loan.
These players are/were free transfers and i believe that Celtic would be very interesting for all of them.
I am not talking down Dembele. But the fact that transfer speculations makes him so distracted that he goes 13 matches without a goal makes me think he aint got the mental bit yet. Playing for Celtic with huge demands to the players are for mentally tough players. I wanted us to sign an experienced striker who could be the one who takes us through the play offs.
I am tired of seeing the club i love spend little cash on players who have 1 good season behind them and the potential to be good. Because when they become good we sell em before we can enjoy it. An investment in quality rather than the future. What do we have left for being Southamptons farmer team for years?
But feel free to praise the club for signing talents. I am just dissapointed because i hoped that with a big manager like BR we would attract much better players than we have the last years.

This guy can run. Steven Fletcher can't. I'd take this guy for that alone.
No idea who Nick Powell is, but I don't think it's a no brainer signing a player Man Utd released. We had one of theirs on our books last year and he was a disaster, who looked as if he had ballophobia.

My mate sent a link to show that he aint the only one looking at Dembele that way:
Warning for Tottenham
This is from March and Fulhams fans reactions to it.
According to the London Evening Standard, Fulham forward Moussa Dembele is still on Tottenham Hotspur's radar.
The north London side rate the teenage talent highly but face competition from Benfica.
Tottenham are said to have nearly signed Demebele in January, meanwhile, and could land the youngster over the summer as he is out of contract at Craven Cottage at the end of this season.
But is that necessarily the best thing for Spurs?
Indeed, the north London side certainly need a back-up forward and recent weeks have shown they could have even done with one in January. Fulham fans, however, have slammed the 19-year-old's attitude following their 2-1 loss to Bristol City. They feel Dembele is far from giving his all with his mind distracted due to the uncertainty over his future.
And the Fulham forward has been accused of turning up for 20 minutes then going home... Should Tottenham perceive that as a warning?
Another apology to the supporters due from Luke Garbutt. And don't get me started on Mousa Dembele who contributes about 20 minutes a game
I would drop Dembele for next week. Attitude and desire not there. Cauley, for all his faults, runs channels and moves into space #ffc
If Dembele starts at Birmingham next week something's wrong. No time for his attitude today. Jokanovic should have dubbed him off earlier.
I'm glad people are now seeing that dembele isn't that good...been saying it a long time...all the hype for an average player #ffc
You will do well to find a player in world football who is more overrated than Moussa Dembele. How on earth #THFC want him I'll never know
Woodrow needs to come in for Dembele who seems uninterested and thinking about his big money summer move. No reason to keep playing him #ffc
FFC disgraceful. No movement, awful decision making all over the pitch. Dembele's sulk as he meandered off summed it up. Lge 1 here we come

Secondly - he had offers on the table from Premiership clubs so I'm not sure why most of your initial post is claiming otherwise.

My imaginary Fulham mate said your imaginary Fulham mate is a nugget

Quoting limited to 3 levels deepHe said: There is a reason why he didn`t end up in a big club in a big league. If he is SUCH A BIG talent why did no one else sign when he was out of contract? Wouldn`t cost Tottenham more than 1 weeks wage for a average player in their team to sign him
First of all to i would like to say that i dont know much about Dembele. 79 from start and 50 goals Steven Fletcher: Age 29.. Club Sunderland.. 94 matches. 72 from start and 23 goals Nick Powell: Age 22..
First off - Fletcher is done. Secondly - he had offers on the table from Premiership clubs so I'm not sure why most of your initial post is claiming otherwise. Yes he had offers from Premier League clubs to be a backup player. No one wanted to promise him first team football and that is why he came here. I was just hoping for more with BR in charge. 15 goals in 43 matches in the championship and a raw talent is not what i wanted but the taste is like the ass you know.
I want to see us in the Champions League and dont think a club with our low budget should focus on talent anymore. We sell all the good ones and those who dont break though becomes first team players. It is destroying our club imo.
But then again it is just my opinion, no need for people to be rude. I have been positive towards most signings we have done besides Cole, Ciftci and CKR.. Sometimes im right and sometimes im wrong..

My imaginary Fulham mate said your imaginary Fulham mate is a nugget So because my mate dont like a player we signed i made him up. Thanks for that one. Some fans prefer players who give 100% for the club. If it was us selling him i would also felt he aint a loss when he dont score for 13 games because he wants to play somewhere else.
If you`ll excuse me, im gonna go take a shower with my imaginary friend
