Why these hacks ask the opinion of McCoist I don't know.
They didn't ask. McCoist made the statement to troll Moussa.

The hacks DID ask Moussa though, is McCoist correct? (Herald tonight.)

They obviously see Moussa as the biggest threat and are trying to unsettle him. Dungbox's!

Brendan Rodgers has lauded Moussa Dembele’s appetite for the big occasion as Celtic prepare to wrap up the title in the coming weeks.

The French striker has been pivotal to the fortunes of the Parkhead side this season with not just the 32 goals that he has scored across all competitions but also the manner of his performances.

Dembele has netted five goals in the three games against Rangers this season, as well as scoring in the UEFA Champions League for Celtic.

And it is his temperament as much as his ability that Rodgers believes makes him suited to the high intensity games when the pressure is on.

“He’s a big-game player and that’s why he’ll have a really good career,” said Rodgers.

“He’s 20 years of age but he knows what he is. He still has work to do but he always turns up in the big games because he has that motivation.

“That’s what big players do – they live for the big games. You can see it in him.

“Having worked with senior players at that level before you need that personality and belief in abundance and he has it.”

Dembele is arguably the most laid-back figure in the Hoops changing room and Rodgers has revealed that there is nothing that fazes the player.

“He doesn’t change – he’s relaxed,” said Rodgers. “When you saw him walk off the pitch recently that’s how he walks.

“People thought he was in the huff but that’s how he walks.

“If he was in London in rush hour that’s how he’d walk. There’s no rush hour with Moussa.

“On team walks he’s just casual.

“It’s just temperament. He can go into cauldrons and big games with big pressure and those type of players take it on and embrace it and love it.

“It’s that personality trait – he loves it.”

Since Celtic’s mid-season break in Dubai, Dembele has scored in every game bar one.

And Rodgers believes that the chance to recharge his batteries. The Celtic manager has also urged people to look beyond only the goals that the player has scored for an indication of his work rate and commitment to the team.

“December was cold – it was a bleak month with nine hard games,” said Rodgers. “January in Dubai gave him some sunshine and a vitamin D boost.

“Look at his goal last week and it is a great example to show you the hunger.

“The goal comes from a throw in right down near the corner flag.

“Moussa sets it back and he’s about 20 yards from the byline. By the time it goes forward he’s the furthest player in the box to get the tap-in two yards out.

“Everyone sees the tap-in but not many see the 85 yards he’s made up to get there.

“He has hunger to be a player – and a top player.”

Moussa Dembele has warned that he fancies himself to better the hat-trick he netted against Rangers at Celtic Park back in September.

The 20-year-old striker netted three as Celtic beat the Ibrox side 5-1 – and was on the scoresheet in the League Cup semi-final and then in the New Year’s Eve win at Ibrox.

Celtic can arithmetically put Rangers out of the title race tomorrow afternoon and Dembele, who has scored in every game bar one since the winter break, will be widely expected to feature on the scoresheet.

Certainly, February’s Player of the Month, heads into the game with every confidence in his own ability to find the back of the net.

“I hope it is going to be even more than three,” said Dembele. “For me, when I go on the pitch, I try to do my best to help the team get three points. If I can score it is great, if not it is good to help the team get three points.

“I could have scored more [in September]. If I scored three then I could score five. But I still wouldn’t be happy because I had scored five. I just have to take it game by game and get ready for Sunday. Hopefully we can win the game.

“First of all, we have to get three points. That is the most important thing. If we can score more goals then we will do it, but the three points are the most important.”

And it was that hat-trick against Rangers where Dembele feels he firmly announced his arrival to the Celtic support.

“I have had some good performances this season so I can’t really look and say which one was the best,” he said. “But that was the day when my Celtic really took off. It all started from that day, so I will always remember it.”

Chelsea noted their interest in the striker in January although this week former Gers manager Ally McCoist scorned the £40m quoted for Dembele.

The player himself was reluctant to put a pricetag on his own head.

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester United have all scouted the player this season which has not been lost on the striker, but he was dismissive of the money that will ultimately change hands for him.

“It feels great because it means I am not doing bad, I think,” he said. “I just have to keep going and training hard.

“If people talk about a change in price tags or whatever, it means we have done a great job – myself and the club. We just need to keep going forward.

“Am I worth £40 million? You tell me. I don’t know. A price is a price. I can’t tell you I’m worth £40 million or £50 million or £30 million or £20 million. I just concentrate on my game.”

Dembele is clearly a player who relishes in the big occasion. He has netted five goals in three games against Rangers and he doesn’t have any concerns about how Sunday’s visitors to Celtic Park may try to stop him.

“I don’t know,” he said. “It’s not about them, it’s just about me. When I’m on the pitch I just try and give 100%. I love big games. I am just ready for them.

“I think they will probably try to stop me, but that isn’t a change from any other team in the league. Everyone tries to stop the team and stop me from scoring goals. But when I am on the pitch I just focus on myself and on my team. I don’t really care about that.

“I just like big games. I try to give 100%. But that isn’t just true in the big games, it’s true in the small games as well. But my best play comes in big games. I don’t know how to explain it.”

Asked if it was realistic to conjecture Celtic setting an Old Firm record with a win by seven clear goals – the highest derby margin was the Hoops’ 7-1 romp in the 1957 Scottish League Cup final – Dembélé said: “First of all, we have to get three points. That is the most important thing.

“If we can score more goals then we will do it, but the three points are the most important. They will probably try to stop me but that isn’t a change from any other team in the league.

“Everyone tries to stop the team and stop me from scoring goals. It’s not about them, it’s just about me. I love big games. I am just ready for them.”

Yip, and publically saying that he isn't worth as much as others think he is is the way to do that.

Cadete scored 33 in his only full season with us but he signed at the end of the previous season so he only scored something like 5 at the end of that year

PSG will lead a star-studded posse of clubs watching Moussa Dembele in Sunday’s Old Firm clash.

But PSG will have company at Parkhead — with English big guns Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City also expected to attend.

Keep up to date with ALL the latest news, transfers and goals from Scottish football plus fixtures, results and live match commentary

The 20-year-old already has 32 goals this season — with five of them in derbies against Rangers.

Dembele began his career at PSG before moving to Fulham at 16 — but the cash-rich French champs are not ruling out a bid to bring him back.

Even if it's true, we'll still tank them.
LG and SS both present a formidable goal threat....more than they can cope with.
