I work with a wee Catalan who said he'd run riot in La Liga. He reckoned no defence could cope with him just now.

He was tremendous last night. His best performance of the season for me.
 My thought entirely.

His turning and running with the ball was reminiscent of Ronaldo (The Phenomenon) albeit without quite the same sprinters pace. I know someone was slated on this thread for saying the same thing but that's just how i saw him last night. The Caley defence were terrified when he got the ball. He could out muscle them, out dribble them and out dribble them as well as puting in a power of work when we didn't have the ball. Wonderful stuff.

The improvement in his game is wonderful to see, like watching a rare flower bloom, or knowing this place, like watching a cash cow getting fatter. :ph43r:

What a effing player. Strong as a bull, with those defenders bouncing off him last night. He kept dropping deep to get the ball and when he got turned to run at them, he was waltzing past them with ease.

A lot of folk will say he was lucky with his first, but it was his running and harrying of the defenders that got him a break of the ball and caused them to play it back. His hard work earned that slice of luck.
Lovely dink for the second goal, after a great ball by Tierney.

Hard to believe he's only 20 years old. :worthy:

I'm at the point now where I don't care how much we could sell him for, I'd like to keep him then let him go for free at the end of his current deal if he continues improving at a similar rate for the next four years. He'll make us plenty of money if he stays anyway. I just want to watch him playing for Celtic for as long as possible
Just came to post the exact same thing.

Totally agree - we could sell next season, pocket the cash and maybe buy a few better than average players, but you just get the feeling that someone of his ilk only comes around once in a blue (green?) moon. We dont need the money and you could argue that by keeping him and building the team around him we could net more through regular access to the champions league riches. The whole point of our club (imo) is to be the best we can possibly be, the stars have aligned with BR at the helm so why don't we try keeping our best players and build on it and see just how far we can go.

It all depends on Moussa himself. If he wants to "do a Larsson" and spend a decent chunk of his career with Celtic before going off and joining a club who can pay him more and offer him a more realistic chance of winning the really big prizes, then I think it's safe to say that there'll be no complaints from any of us.

If however he's got a career plan in his mind whereby he'll just spend a couple of years with us before moving on to those more lucrative deals then there's nothing we can do about that and we'll just have to be grateful for however many millions we get for him.

Sadly I suspect the latter is his plan and we'll just have to enjoy it while it lasts. I'd probably sacrifice some minor relative for the former to happen though.

Haha, Dembele's first goal brought back a similar memory of a goal i scored for my school team. In regards to did he mean to score with the first chip.

I was very right footed and tried to chip the goalie and score with my left foot. But I lobbed the keeper perfectly and then i cracked it in with my right foot on the volley. I remember being super chuffed as i wasn't great on my right either, especially when volleying :)

Anyway everyone was on to me but I was adamant that i meant it the way i scored it.

The most influential player we've had for over a decade. Would be criminal to only get one season out of him, especially when he seems to be in no rush to leave.

The best we've had in a long, long time.

The fourth goal last night was Larssonesque.

Can you imagine if we still had Forster, Van Dijk, Wanyama at the club and Dembele.

I wonder if Henke would do a talk with the squad, about staying for a while before moving on.
If any players would take anything out of it, or if it would be required/appreciated?

Moussa & his agent seem to be agreeable to staying... Get a contract in front of him.

On recent form, he would manage it twice and Lee Griffiths would get on for the last 10 minutes :naught:

I think the best we can hope to get from the guy is until the end of next season, but I'd be delighted if we do get that.

Who was the journo/writer who was asking something like 'If he's that good, why did no one in England sign him?' Or was it Ferguson or Boyd who came out with that gem?
