The thing about 4 years is just the headline, further on in the article it just says what is expected, that he signed a 4 year deal and Moussa isn't thinking about another move at this present time or in the immediate future.

Its all very standard stuff. If an offer comes in that meets our valuation he will be off if he fancies the side that's come in for him.

I hope he does stay for 4 years. Couldn't give a toss about the money, if we get to keep Moussa for another three seasons.
I'm with you.

Hope he goes to Real Madrid - what a prestigious move for the club that would be in itself quite apart from the money.

He's absolutely allowed to run his contract down. No one can stop him. :ponder:
No one is saying he can't. Certainly not me but if a club wants to cash in on a player 99% of the time they will. And we will. It's just a matter of when.

Here we have our greatest ever asset and people think he will be walking away in 4 years for heehaw? Aye ok.

We qualify for the CL each season he's here and we'll have made more than he's worth.

Burley's comments in full

He told ESPN: "Scottish football is quite embarrassing at the moment in terms of the standard but he is head and shoulders [above the rest].

"He’s a good player and is young. Chelsea, I’m hearing, are the favourites [to sign him].

"Talking to one or two guys I know back in Scotland, they said he is pretty much nailed on to go to Chelsea and possibly for around £40m."

What an utter arsepiece
aye ok craig , away back to where ever you sprang from .

No I didn't . At no point did I say he can't run down his contract. I never typed those words. What I actually said was he wouldn’t be allowed to by the board. 2 completely different things

Whether or not he wants to run his contract down the club will cash in. It’s really not difficult to understand. That’s the lie of the land at the club. We buy potential. Develop them and sell them. This is no different and won’t be any different to the likes of Wanyama, Van Dijk, Forster etc.

Unless there is a shift in strategy he will be offski.

Do I need to quote your own post to you?

The club cannot stop him from running down his contract if he wants to. They can't force him to leave, irrespective of the club's policy. They can't cash in on him if he chooses to see out his contract.

Real and PSG are his dream choices if the rumours are to be believed.

At no point have I posted the words he can't run down his contract so you will be wasting your time. You are taking what I am posting and giving it your own meaning. I said he won't be allowed to it's completely different and I have said why he won't be allowed to.

I ain't clogging the thread up discussing it any longer. I have said my piece.

Technically clubs can't force players out the door if they don't want to go - of course they can't. How often does it happen though? If a massive club comes in for Dembele with the right offer for both parties then it is highly likely he will go. The chances, imo, of him walking away on a free in four years is practically nil.

You said Celtic wouldn't allow him to run down his contract. That's wrong, Celtic can't stop him from running down his contract. If Celtic could do that, then he wouldn't be able to run down his contract. He can. It isn't rocket science.

“The story for Moussa could not be better than it is now and I would also encourage any players approached by Celtic to consider the option seriously of joining one of the biggest clubs in the world, with great fans and being managed by one of the best managers in the world.

“Celtic is huge and you only realise it when you go there.

“When you visit the stadium, you feel something special.

really liking his agent , i wonder who else he represents

Take 30m for him in the Summer OR let him run his contract down with four years of CL money.

That article kind of suggests he'll only go if it's a club he wants to go too. He'll go with my best wishes if he runs his contract down and we've qualified for the CL every season he's been here.
