Henrik has been gone for 13 years. There's a generation out there, including loads on here, that either never saw him play or were too young to appreciate him.
Well that's me feeling like an auld bastard. Cheers Joe.

Another wonderful player we can call our own and lets hope, like Henke, he can help win us a treble.

Dembele is frighteningly good. There's no telling how much better he may get. But if he wants to be considered in the same terms as the King of Kings he needs to stay with us for seven years, then go to Barcelona and win the CL, score a few goals in the EPL on the side just to keep himself from getting bored, and grow his dreads out.

His second goal today reminded me of Henrik v Valencia.
Henrik's was miles farther out and against Canizares. Sorry but it wasn't anything like it.
Hooper's at Ibrox reminded me a bit of that Henrik goal. Today's was a more straightforward finish.

Henrik'swas a much more difficult angle and at the corner of the 18 yard box if I remember correctly. Henrik didn't have as much of the goal to aim at and still found the corner to beat Canizares.

One of the best atmospheres I've ever experienced at CP that night

Although he didn't start to really flourish until he was in his mid/late 20's, Larsson secured a World Cup 3rd place medal when he was still only 22.

Could Dembele become better than Larsson? Possibly but unless he spends another 6-7 years with us, he'll never mean half as much as the King of Kings.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deepNever thought I'd see a better striker than Larsson at Celtic, but I think Dembele, at twenty, seems to be on a different level.
It's not that crazy.

If he's scored 26 in half a season, imagine what he'd be capable of if he stayed the same seven years that Larsson did?

Factor in modest personal improvement of 10-15% per year on top of that, and who's to say how good he'd be?
His exact words were "I never thought I'd see a better striker AT CELTIC than Larsson".

He is not better than Larsson. Far from it at the moment.

Dembele has the world at his feet though.
Ok let's reframe the argument. When did we last have a 20 year old as good as dembele?

Those comparing Moussa to Henrik need to remember Henrik didn't have the physique of Moussa and would have had no right to play as a lone striker but his touch and movement allowed him to be able to play that role. He had the leap of a salmon too and he was stronger than he looked.

Moussa is only 20 and will obviously improve but there's only one KOK

Moussa is 20 but has the physique of a 30 year old. His football brain is well advanced for a 20 year old too.

Similar to Rooney at 16 when he broke through. His physique at that age gave him an advantage over others of a similar age

Also his awareness was out of this world. Magnificent ability to peel off a marker, be where his teammate needed him to be or anticipate the error of an opposing defender. I've seen some good technically proficient forwards at Celtic in my time but nothing approaching the all roundedness of Larsson.

This. He's great, but he's no Larsson. Not yet, anyway...

Is it possible to be better than Henrik? If he reaches the standard of Larsson then he'll be doing really well.Things are going so well for Celtic that right now I would settle for no signings this summer if we can keep all our players, excluding Ambrose.

This. Never again will we have a player of Larsson's ability stay with us for along as he did.

Comparisons are futile. Henrik was 26/27 when he came to us without the incredible acclaim that he subsequently earned. Mousa is at the start of his career and is probably ahead of Henrik comparing them both at the age of 20. Who knows how far Mousa can go and let's hope he can go right to the top. Let's wind forward 7 years and make comparisons then.

I think it's completely appropriate to compare Moussa to Henrik KoK......best striker we've had since KoK. Those saying that we'll never have anyone like Herik are wrong. Look back and think would we have ever been in this position with THEM where they are now! Things change, Moussa is a KoK in the making! He'll go on to be a Benzema/Ibra/Drogba/Costa.....enjoy him if it's for six months more, a year more or 4 years more. It doesn't matter....he'll have made his name with us!
