I think most on here now know my first impression's of the big man, if not check back.

The way he set himself up for 3-2 was absolutely brilliant, feckin brilliant.

Hey, I don't mind, called it wrong before, guilty as charged.

I honestly thought we had a bought a doo

MOUSSA Demebele says he always feels confident in front of goal after his terrific treble in Sunday’s 5-2 comeback win away to St Johnstone. With Celtic trailing 2-1, the striker entered the fray just before the hour-mark and equalised with his first touch from the penalty spot.

The 20-year-old completed the turnaround in the 75th minute with a composed side-footed finish from the edge of the area and then rounded off the scoring by applying the finish to a tremendous team goal, which saw every Hoops player touch the ball.

Three shots, three goals, all in the space of 24 minutes – it was another stellar showing from the talented Frenchman, who is now sitting on 23 goals for the campaign.

But he took just as much satisfaction at the final outcome as the champions clocked up their 19th successive league victory to extend their domestic unbeaten run to 29 matches.

“I feel good about my performance, but mostly about the team performance and team effort,” said Dembele. “We showed we're strong together and won the game so we're happy.

“I don’t really feel pressure in front of goal. I’m a striker, I’m used to it and I’m confident because I have been doing this all my life. My (scoring) target is in my head and I won’t tell you about it but I will try to go beyond it."

Brendan Rodgers side now lead the chasing pack in the Scottish Premiership by a massive 27 points as they close in on a sixth consecutive league title, but Dembele isn’t looking too far on the horizon.

“They (St Johnstone) gave us a good game,” he added. “We don’t have easy games. It’s up to us to make sure we are at 100 per cent and give everything, and if we perform like we have done all season then there will be no problem.

"We have to keep performing as well as we can. We have to take things game-by-game and then we will see.”

Dembele, who had missed the previous two games with injury, was the subject of intense transfer speculation on the last day of the January transfer window but, content with life at Celtic, he insisted that it never registered with him.

“I haven’t been listening to what has been said and I have just tried to get fit as quickly as I could and get back on the pitch,” said the French Under-21 internationalist.

“I don’t really listen what has been said in the media, I don’t follow it and I just try to do my best on the pitch and show everyone the level of footballer I am.

“It’s easy for me not to get distracted. I’m a very calm guy and I don’t let this kind of thing get into my head. I am just enjoying my football here, I’m happy to be here and I want to be here for as long as I can.”

A fine set of responses from a guy that's now (imo) showing a better level of consistency on each performance. :worthy:

If only Griffiths could take a leaf from his book. :ph43r:

I keep forgetting that he is only 20 years old. He has everything required to be a world-class star: pace, strength, technique, power, composure, humility and a professional attitude. Throw in what looks like a very astute agent with an eye for the long term prospects of his charge, rather than a short term money grabbing attitude, and you have the complete package.

I don't know how long he will remain in Paradise, or how much money we will make from selling him, but i fully expect him to leave eventually for one of the largest an richest clubs in the world and when he does we will look kindly upon him for what he achieves while with us and what he goes on to achieve. I can't see us being aggrieved with him or Moussa leaving under a cloud or leaving us with a bad taste in our mouths like we had with some players who saw us as a quick route to the EPL. He's too classy a kidd for that. :worthy:
