Rodgers was on Radio Scotland last Wednesday and he clearly seemed dissapointed that we haven't done more business in this window. In fact, he seemed to be miffed at the board.

The manager is trying to build a team, and as I recall he's told the board he wants to keep Dembele for at least another eighteen months. If they sell him now (regardless of the money on offer) there's a chance that the manager will become disenchanted.

Rodgers is worth more to us that the 30 odd million we could get for Dembele right this second. I think the board know that and thus the player will be staying put.
Pish.

Rodgers know the model we have here so he can harldy be disenchanted.

This is the deal of the century for Celtic and lays an important marker: we won't be bulled into selling cheap again.

70x our outlay in six months.

Rodgers gets a chunk of that to invest. We'll win the league and probably treble anyhow.

FWIW I know the money mentioned seems unrejectable to some but there`s no interest in watching a balance sheet.

It`s players like Moussa we have sadly missed these last few years and I`d hate to see him go after 6 months, whatever the compensation. You can look at shiny seats, nice lights and sparkly balloons, a museum or hotel and go `meh` after 5 minutes.

Great players thrill and entertain, they give you memories to cherish....and then they leave for buckets full of dosh, which we`ll get anyway unless his legs fall off at some point in the next few years.Keep for another wee while, for the accountants he`s money in the bank. For the fans he`s a big, gallus, big game player.

Completely agree with this.

You could improve the infrastructure of Celtic, get Lennoxtown updated . Put us on an incredible financial footing to back Rodgers long term.

This is a no brainer. 35-40million is a mental amount of money for Moussa - and I am a big fan.

Selling off what's arguably his best player after only six months in the job? Of course he can be miffed. And I think he would be based on his previous comments.

I'm not saying it doesn't make good business sense but it depends what you value more highly. The thirty million in your bank account or keeping the most exciting manager we've had since MON happy in the job.

If the figures ££££££££££££££££ being spoke about I don't see us refusing tbh.......that sort of money doesn't happen every day in Scottish football !!!!........we will unearth another talented player soon or in the summer.

Rodgers sold a genuine world class talent in Suarez. He knows how the football world works.

If we get an offer of 35m quid it would be mental not to sell. And I'm no balance book lover either

Agree with this as well.

He may be miffed at the time but essentially in less than a year he may well have banked Celtic 60m. In the summer it was strongly rumoured we wanted Allen but he and others in that range were out of our price range. They may well fall into this summer if that money is sitting in the bank.

There's come a point (ala Fergie with Real bid for Ronaldo) that the deal makes sense for all concerned.

You're assuming Brendan is in opposition and shaping your opinion based on that then saying the manager could be unhappy. Lets wait and see if it goes through and if so, his words then.

Most of the stuff is won.

Get Griffiths fit, Sinclair as back up. Look to replace Moussa in the summer.

Like I said, I'm not one balance sheets, infact I've always been a loudmouth for speculating. At these prices, this deal is just mental, we have to take it ( if it is real)

There is an issue though, as I mentioned previously, that has often hampered clubs when selling a major asset and spending it on several others. I remember West Ham selling Rio Ferdinand to Leeds - Harry Redknapp went out and spunked the money on four or five players who were absolute pish - Titi Camara springs to mind. Spurs wasted a lot of the Bale money on the likes of Paulinho, Soldado and Cahdli. And Rodgers himself sold Suarez and spunked a fortune on Markovic, Balotelli, Moreno, Lambert etc. It sounds great having the money but sometimes you are maybe better off with the player.

Nah, I actually agree with you, we get the £35 to £40 million being talked about and we have to sell him.
