In the summer Celtic will accept "£20 mill + Patrick Roberts on permanent + Moussa loaned back for a season" from Man City

BLISS
Make it €30m, Roberts included with Moussa staying for another y.ear on loan and it's a deal.

If West ham offer him 70k a week he will walk to London unfortunately
If Moussa was motivated by money he wouldn't have signed with us. He knows he is set for the big money anyway, why settle for West Ham now when he has potential to be at a top European force.
Your dreaming if you think he won't move to West ham if we accept a bid.

Fwiw I don't think we will accept anything less than 30 million for him

If Moussa and his agent are as smart as I'm sure they are, they probably negotiated a massive percentage deal from any future transfer, probably 15/20pc, perhaps as much as 25pc.

If that's the case, and I haven't heard it mentioned, we would be crazy to accept now any less than the £30m guaranteed for CL qualification. That would mean a fee of c.£40m, which he's not yet worth. We'll sit tight for a while. :) Hoops in Paris might know if his favourite team PSG  have an opinion on our bhoy. If so, that's when it could get very interesting.

Folk actually thinking we're gonna take this. :lmao:
I think it's more along the lines of people thinking we SHOULD take it. They'd be wrong of course.

Not forgetting the fact that it's ultimately down to Dembele where he wants to go and I get the overall impression that he doesn't want to leave us. Yet.

It just doesn't make sense to sell at this time. We don't need the money. We will get money for nothing if VVD goes to Chelsea. Wanyama could be on the move as well, though I don't know if there was a sell-on clause built into that deal. Clearly we are doing our business on the QT given that we have turned up another 19 year-old with fantastic development and financial potential. Remember back when VVD, Wanyama, and Forster were sold, KDS was full of discussion about us being a selling club. I don't think things have changed in that respect. What has changed is that we are now in a far stronger financial position and we have a manager who will not take the usual crap from Lawwell, who will demand that funds are made available for identified targets, be they first team shoo-ins or bankable prospects. Rodgers has an eye for raw talent and has proved he can work with and develop players. There are a lot of green eyed monsters looking in from across the city.

If the money is right the club will okay it dont kid ourselves that's football unfortunately in the modern age.

Then he needs to wish to go which is very plausible due to money or career progression whether that is at West Ham im not so sure but he can easily treble his wages coupled with move to a bigger league. Lets hope he stays for at least another 6 months and we get a bumper 30 mill offer and a big club down south or on continent come in.

I highly doubt we've got a sell-on agreement with Wanyama's team.

He said the plan was to get Sanchez as a replacement to play with Sturridge supported by Sterling, Lallana and Coutinho.

Lambert was to be used as cover. That sounds like a decent plan.

They didn't go the extra mile to get Sanchez and ended up scrambling about to get Balotelli. Sturridge got injured and Lambert ended up being their main striker.

They also spent £20 million on Markovic, £20 million on Lovren and £12 million on Moreno - proving how easy it is to absolutely waste a massive windfall like the one they got for Suarez. I'd rather keep Dembele than take the gamble that we could use any potential transfer fee to improve the overall depth of the squad.
True.

Then you think... what made Larsson stay? Different times yes, but he could be an even bigger hero than Henke... please, please, please

He'd be a fool to allow himself to be touched up by Dave Sullivan.

West Ham is a serious step down from Celtic, regardless of the league. Christ, do folk watch the EPL?

The money Larsson was on at Celtic wasn't dramatically different from what he'd have received down south. In the modern era, Larsson could have earned £150,000 per week in England or £300,000 a week in China. Something tells me he wouldn't have spent seven years with us in those circumstances!

Larsson was a player who struggled at previous clubs as well. When he signed for Celtic and started becoming a hero it must have felt like a match made in heaven for him. He also played in a team that I believe Larsson had immense confidence in going all the way in Europe.

It's a massive difference to what we can offer players now unfortunately.

Jam back on.

If we were genuinely offered 30 mill for a player we bought for 400k around 6 months ago I'd be surprised if we didn't accept it. Injuries, loss of form, failure to reach potential all unknowns in the football world. Dembele has loads of talent and potential but many young players have been in this situation and it's all gone tits up. I think Dembele is the real deal but I'm not sure our board would risk losing out on that kind of profit even though the pot of gold could be much bigger further down the line.

I am fairly sure he can't move in January due to FIFA's 'max 2 clubs in 12 months' rule.

Even if he goes in the summer I'll be distraught, guy is a star.

What I'd give for a player of his potential to stay 3-4 years
