Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
If he signs for West ham today he'll be worth £30 million tomorrow.
Probably more.

Virgil's value has gone from £13m to £60m in little over a year.

I don't want us getting stung again. eff them.
Well said. We've far too many on here of the attitude he's not worth this or that. Thankfully they won't be doing any negotiations for us.

Moussa is young, well advanced for his age and has proven experience in the Championship, Scottish premiership and Champions league. If he goes it'll be a minimum of 25 million and even then I think that will be as low as it'll be. The lad is a star!! Best we'll see up close in our colours for many years.

We shouldn't be selling unless a) the bid is ridiculous or b) he wants to go.

And why would he want to go to West Ham? A year ago he was wanted by Spurs and clearly he has ambitions greater than a no mark club like West Ham. So clearly he wouldn't have his head turned by money.

There is no use comparing the value of Dembele to Wanyama or VVD.

Wanyama and VVD were sold before the new tv deal came into play. A £15million player to those teams is now easily worth £25-30million.

I love the big man and will be gutted to see him go. But I genuinely think we'll get £30million+ for him and it'll be from one of the big teams. And it might be next January at the earliest.

Suspect like any sensible chap he'll want a European reputation

Another season or so with us and he'll get one I believe

The idea we would take 20m is a bit laughable. He is the type of player every club in the world is looking for - the all-round striker who has all the athletic attributes and can lead the line alone. Even below average or unproven players in his mould go for 20m+. Add on the French player tax on top of that.

I'd be asking for 40m. It's a seller's market and we have football's equivalent of a fabergé egg.

How can anyone on here with a slight bit of intelligence think 20m is a good deal? Ross McCormack has moved for 12m and is completely shampoo. There's a kid currently moving from league 1 for 11m. Moussa was great for us in the CL and has been in great form for France u21s. Name another player with his credentials and potential that you would get for anything below 35-40m In what planet would 20m be a good deal?

Dembele is also a striker which would make his value much higher than a midfielder or defender

He's a good player. Strong, athletic, physical, but I don't see the top, top tier ability that many seem to. Only 20 I know, and could/should continue to improve, but don't think his touch/overall ability is at that level. See him more as a Ki/Denayer level player, rather than Wanyama/VVD/Forster level. Just one man's opinion (and I hate that we sold low on Vic/VVD/Forster), but 20m would be awfy tough for me to turn down. That said, if clubs wealthier than West Ham are willing to bid 30m over the summer, then spose it'd be folly to sell for 20m. Put in the good 'problem' to have column

As an aside, how sick must Fulham be?
He was unplayable at times in the Champions League. What tier does he have to perform at before you believe?

Re the money. Goalscorers tend to fetch higher fees than defenders or midfielders. Considering his age, his current rate of progress and his potential, £20m is not a lot of money.

He has all the attributes to play at the very top.
If he signs for West ham today he'll be worth £30 million tomorrow.

I don't believe West Ham think they'll get anywhere near him and certainly not for that cash.
Should offer him on loan for 5m till end of the season, gives him a challenge and a higher profile but he's still ours.....crazy i know

West Ham were considering making a bid of £10m for Andre Gray a week or so ago, everyone knows Burnley paid around £9m a year ago.

The spunkbrothers (west ham owners) are renowned for making joke bids to try keep their fans onside - it doesn't work

Has the potential to be world class but he's nowhere near it yet. He's had a great season but his decision making and link up play still have a lot of room for improvement (not a criticism, just what you'd expect for a 20 yo). Signing for some relegation haunted EPL side whose idea of building for the future is 'can we stay up in May' is the last thing he should be thinking of doing.

Everything he's said since he's got here suggests he's got a decent head on his shoulders.

I wonder if he's going to be capped at full level soon.
How much would a full international cap for France add to his value? What if he scored at full international level?
He can't be too far away from that & is progressing nicely.
I'm guessing he'll be here for another full season at least & if he continues to progress, then he'll be leaving for £30m+

See when Celtic say that £20 million is not up to the Clubs valuation, that gives out the wrong signal in my opinion.

The stock answer to any bid, fake, mischievous or genuine should be "Not for sale at any price"

West Ham ffs

He's be bonkers to go to likes of West ham, fighting it out in an athletics stadium in front of some quietly scuffling huns.

Why wouldn't he want to stay at least until we see where we are in Europe. The boy is level headed and ambitious. Celtic are one of the very biggest European teams. We are paying good wages and we have been the talk of Champions league football (in a good way) at times this past year. He's in paradise. The world is at his feet.
