Will hopefully be back firing on all cylinders when we have a full strength team out.

Was unlucky a couple of times tonight but was just one of those games for everyone.

Probably because when anyone criticises Dembele, his performances or his attibutes there isn't a cabal of forum memebers who use scientology like tactics to shout down legitimate opinions they don't agree with
That may be slightly true, however for someone like myself who loves having two strikers we can rely on I seem to have found myself in the firing line in the Griffiths thread tonight.

There seems to be those just as vociferous about slating Leigh as there is those who defend him.
What happens is when Griffiths gets criticised, no not even criticised, when someone says they rate Dembele or any other striker as being better you get the same wee petals crying about his past racist misdemeanors and how the pc brigade and left wing luvvies will never give him a break etc. They then go on about why he has had it hard or why he should be playing. This isn't dependant on the form of Dembele. They just want their cult hero in the team. That is fine. They like him an awful, awful lot. We get it. We don't have to placate them as it is a football forum which the whole point of is to voice your own opinion.

Clearly his form this season has been up and down. The guy who played in the 5-1 and M City home games has disappeared What was his form like with Fulham, ?inconsistent

Thought he was poor,as was LG when he came on.
Needs to get his mojo back soon
Ffs, Griffiths had 19? mins.

The team were pish again tonight and the Sinclair/Dembele link up failed to materialise.

As I've said in the thread about the other striker, the reason we played so well as good few games ago was Sinclair.
His return will bring it's rewards again, tonight being a case in point.

Dembele really needs to get about the goals and make himself a box player a bit more.
Hold up play is all very well but if you are the spearhead of the attack, you want to be the sharp/pointy bit.

Really hoping he comes good soon, been a disappointing month or two now.

A couple of nice moments from Moussa but generally poor - as he has been for a while.

Everything seems to be a struggle for him just now.

We need him back firing again.

Thought he played reasonably well considering he got next to no service

He's very unselfish as well.
I wouldn't go as far to say he played reasonably well, but I couldn't help but notice the lack of service either.

That's not to excuse Dembele, but the whole team is lacking a spark atm but I'm confident when we get our collective mojo back (Ibrox  ), Moussa will be at the forefront.

So everyone and their dog agrees Dembele has been 'off the boil/poor/rotten' for a fair while now, and when I say he I hope he comes good soon, it's gets big lols from you?

I'll remind you, once again.
Come back at the end of the season and we can discuss each players overall contribution.

At least others (who much prefer Dembele over Griffiths) have the nous to understand why currently, Griffiths is a safer bet over 90 mins than Dembele. ;)

There is a player there, with experience and consistency there is a very good player there, unfortunately we are seeing a dip in the lads form, therefor , unfortunately we must admit the jury is still out. We have as much evidence to suggest a "purple patch" as we do young star. I hope that's this is a hiatus and not the norm . In fact I would take a punt that its just exactly that and this lad will go on to great things.
Still think we are blessed with the finest strikers we have had in some years.

'The jury is still out.'
20 years old, and scored at every level he's played at.

A purple patch that carries over two seasons with two clubs.

Better second half, unlucky with a couple of efforts.

Wouldn't have started him.

Had my wee say in the Griff thread, so might as well chuck my 2p in here too.

IMO If both Dembele & Griff were at their best - Dembele's a better all rounder than Griff and my #1. But any player in the world has purple patches, spells where it's just not working for them. Let alone a young guy at a huge club still learning his trade. He's mentally learning how to manage playing poor, or how to stick to doing the right things even when he's not scoring.

However, we're lucky to have Griff - and have him playing well - whilst Dembele is going through this.

Like I said on the Griff thread, I am happy with either starting against the Huns - whoever is the inform & playing with most confidence.

You don't play a striker who can't score goals on current form. Give Dembele chances off the bench to get his confidence back and keep playing LG whilst he is scoring. If Dembele recovers his form he will be the main man again.

Agreed 100%, MD has been great but Griff is in form so he will start
