Quoting limited to 3 levels deepqualifying for the CL.
We have failed to buy before selling in the past, what's different now? When we lost Hooper we dicked around for years trying to replace before Griffiths came along.

We bought VVD to play alongside Wilson before he decided to leave, so that wasn't a replacement bought up front as such.

I just don't see where your pulling that strategy from? Yes it makes sense to us fans but the board have never really done it that way in the past.
Years? :ponder:
We signed Griffiths 6 months after Hooper left.
Seemed like longer, the Baldes and Pukkis have scarred my memory, although I dont think Griffiths played at all after he signed in the January. Took him about 8 or 9 months to get a game, which has probably added to my shampoo memory of years without a goal scoring striker.

Straight into the team when he signed. Him and Stokes played some good stuff and we hammered a few teams. Scored a HT against ICT iirc.

No idea where you're getting that idea from.
He scored 7 goals in 13 appearances in his first half season.

I thought he played pretty well tonight. That chance though. He had to finish that.

Would probably have been better slightly misheading it, might have taken it away from the keeper.

I don't think it was that great a chance. Ball was dropping down with no pace on it.

Still needs pace beside him in my opinion, lone striker he is not.

Play him and Griff, when fit, and do the damage on Sunday.

I am not sure, mate. He does a lot of work on his own. With Sinclair and Forrest either side of him he has plenty of pace. Him and Griff won't work as a partnership.

I would have to see it again but he was unmarked around 8 yards out.

No, Rodgers doesn't like to play with two strikers and Dembele is superior to Griffiths.

I thought he had some nice touches and flick on's tonight, should've buried the header.

We are going to get some huge bids for him

He's definitely best up on his own. Tough tonight with the lack of support.

It's very difficult being a lone striker against Barcelona. He showed tonight though that he still has a bit to learn and should stay with us for a while yet.

Put in a good shift up top against some high class opponents. He really should have scored that header but.

Very tough tonight being isolated up front, but thought he was decent against world class defenders like Mascerano and Pique.

Missed header shows he's far from the finished article. Tough night for the kid though, in fairness.

Not sure I agree that he should have scored the header. There was absolutely no pace on the ball in from Forrest, it would have been a very difficult skill to pull off if he had scored.

The chance of the game was when McGregor should have played in Dembele who would have been clean through.

Was screaming for him to pass then he tried to make up for Borussia and made another arse of it.
