Just about chucked my tele out the window when that wee cock of a ref gave a foul as he was blootering his way through all their players at the touch line.

One of many piss poor decisions he gave all night. I mean how dare a player muscle his way past three opponents :ffs:
Portuguese football and their Refs...I've a ever growing dislike for them.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
He's been better than I thought he would be, that's for sure, no probs.
Wee bit vague? Or is it me?

How did you think he'd do before you watched him?
I'd never heard of him till he came to us mate  , like a few on here.

I would like to know why people are so adamant he is leaving at the end of the season. The kid himself has said he is happy here and wants to be at a CL team to help his development. If teams are sniffing about just now and offer us £20-25M after one season how much are we going to get when he starts hitting top gear?

Calm down and enjoy him but I do think we will get 2-3 years out him.
Cant see it, if he continues like has has been, which I dont doubt for a second he will do, he will be a 20m striker come the summer. Arsenal, Spurs, Man City and all the the rest will be after him, giving the position he plays. His head will turn.
At least one of those teams did everything they could to sign him and he came to us for less money. The kids head screwed on the right way and he felt coming to us was going to be best for his development. Why would that change after one season?
I'm not going to lie and say he didn't come to Celtic saying that but he has appeared in the CL and done it in the CL. That alone has added value to his name.

If he went to Arsenal or Spurs last season from Fulham and failed to make an impact after a year or 2, he would be down a level from what is now. He will still receive attention from the top clubs in Europe if he leaves in a 6-9 months time and goes to a top 4 side down south and doesn't make it.

That wee step over to leave that guy for dead before he fouled him was exquisite. The bloke didn't know where the ball or Dembele was

He will go right to the top, getting stronger and stronger.

The ref pulling him back for shrugging off 3 defenders who were trying to wrestle him off the ball was ridiculous.

Will not be stopping off at the likes of Southamton

 We get to keep him for at least one more season, if we get less than £30m in this market for a potential world class striker we will have been mugged.

I think he'll stick around next season unless we don't get CL football next summer - he would be the sale.

Ref penalised him tonight for being too strong and making it impossible for those BMG players to get near him. The one where he skinned the players on the touch line was a shocker, would have loved to have seen whether he'd a clear run into goal after that.

Great composure over the pen and Real quality looking player that looked scary as eff when doing the interview afterwards with the starey eye thing.

Destined for bigger things but would love a couple of seasons out of him.

Incredible potential, still loads of room for improvement, which I dearly hope he chooses to do at Celtic/with Rodgers. I actually think that's the most exciting thing about watching Dembele, you can tell he's nowhere near peaked.

Did really well in spells tonight, held it up well, took his penalty brilliantly. Unfortunately, was also starved of the ball on occasions and at times picked the wrong option. But all in, a great presence to have up top on a night like tonight.

Caught the end of the second half. Oooof, looked like he's fast becoming the player I thought would take a fair while to live up to his potential. His performances are sure to be catching the top clubs for sure. Guys a beast. If he can get some of his passing/decision making screwed down he'll be a massive coup for whoever pays the £95Million to us. :)

Pah, still to be convinced about his ability at this level. One jammy one off his chest, a sclaffed overhead kick, and a penalty does not a good player make ;)

In all seriousness though, he has been absolutely first class. Another really good performance. Even at this early stage he has to be one of the best value signings we've made in modern times. A monstrous contribution in just four months :rocker:

He was excellent second half today - the ref's decision to penalise him for basically out mustling their defenders was ludicrous

If we can keep him for two seasons I'll be very happy

Such a truly robust striker has not pulled on the Hoops since Sutton and Hartson. That penalty was won by having the strength and pace to get in behind the defender. He's not perfect but he's able to fashion chances and openings from the morsels he receives in a difficult CL away tie and that's exactly what we need.
