Is that knowledge or speculation?
That's straight from the horses mouth. You can take it to the bank.
 that is brilliant news, I had assumed that there would be.

Why do our fans fear the worst when it comes to the running of the club? Of the many things you can accuse our board and Lawwell of, being daft when it comes to contracts and selling our more coveted players for low amounts are not among them.

Fair play to the board if that's the case.

I reckon that if he stays on current form we would probably sell him for about 35m at the end of next season.
This sounds like an accurate prediction.

Purchased for a £500,000 development fee, Celtic striker Moussa Dembele is now valued at £40m with Chelsea and Manchester City ready to battle with Real Madrid for the 20-year-old. (Sunday Express

Dembele signed for us because he wanted to develop as a player and didn't want to sit on the bench at an EPL club. Can't see him going anywhere for another year at least. Has a good head on his shoulders.

It's not so much fearing the worst as recognising your bargaining position.

If Moussa's agent had insisted on a release clause of say £10m at the end of season 2 and that was a deal breaker I am not sure that we would have been in a position to resist.

It's a huge coup to get someone of that ability for a development fee in any circumstances but to have done the deal without a release clause is a phenomenal piece of business

£40 million is fantasy, but £20 million isn't all that daft.

The going rate for an EPL striker these days is around that (amazingly!) ad there's some real dross going for that.

If you factor in decent champions league stats in what is proving to be an outgunned team, then £20 million doesn't look that silly.

Only if he goes to an EPL club though. Anywhere else in Europe a sensible price would be between £9m-£12 million.

EPL clubs are bonkers though. When his time comes, and I hope that will not be for another year or two, we should be actively looking to punt him to that league.

If we do, £20 million is certainly achievable.
It depends if he can get into the France side. If he does and scoes a few there we could easily get 30m plus. As it stands he is easily a 20m player already.
Indeed. Totally correct.

I think £30 million would be an optimistic limit though.

I don't think he'll be playing with any regularity for France before he leaves here unfortunately.

Nope. Park is single handedly responsible only for every bad signing we've made. He was at the bank lodging his bonuses on the days we got van dijk, Dembele et al and he was fuming. It's because he's EVIL. But it's fine, cos he's gone now. And nothing will ever go wrong again. But if it does,it's Lawwell's fault. And maybe Bitton's.

Completely agree plus we'll be under no pressure to sell, we've earned a fortune from the CL and he's got a 4 year deal. We'll have him for 2 seasons and he'll leave with 2 years CL experience and caps for the French national team. Still a long way to go but he could easily be a 30mill player.

Do you ever bore yourself with this pish because you certainly bore the rest of us?

Away and make a list of which of our U-17 players are out injured.

Can only be good for us if he does move on to a top club and then cites his time here as a positive to his career.
