We should be paying the better players more, as long as they're actually better which I don't think anyone can argue with. Our problem wasn't so much our wage budget, more that it was spread across too many players.

As for Kenny McIntyre, he couldn't find Celtic park with a sat nav, he hasn't a clue what the real numbers are.

I'd be surprised if they both came in straight on to a basic wage that was about £10k/30% higher than Brown'/.

Maybe they get that much if they play and we win and they score or something.

Kenny McIntyre on Sportsound last night saying Demble (and Sinclair) both earning £35k a week.

Was under the impression £25k a week was our limit. Has their been a shift in policy? Is £35k right? Substantial sum for a 20 year old, albeit performing very well and looks to have great potential.
Heard that too and I was a bit surprised about that figure. :ponder: It's never that high and especially for 19 year old. Seriously, doubt that.
I wouldn't. Having a wage cap would be a 1 hand tied behind Brendan's back scenario. i doubt we have a wage cap now.
Agree, wouldn't surprise me at all of that figure was accurate. We get these guys on the cheap and we pay them a comparative salary to what they can get down south, probably with a wee bonus at the start/end (or built in to the salary) to incentivise the deal.

They wouldn't be here if they weren't getting a decent salary.

Brown's a lifer here, I doubt there's any need to factor in his salary as a benchmark. But if they do, then they'll just pay Dembele and Sinclair the £25k pw and add in the rest as a guaranteed bonus somewhere in the deal.

I heard that Dembele and Sinclair got hefty signing on fees - 7 figures. Could be a load of rubbish though.

Well we fairly hiked the managers salary up so perhaps there has been a total shift in policy.

Toure will be on much the same too I'd imagine.

Pretty sure M1K3Y has said on here recently that Toure was our highest earner.

Wouldn't surprise me. Would be earning far more elsewhere beforehand.

We had to push the boat out, and looks like we have for the first time since MON's first season.

if it's to be believed that Dermot was disgusted at the 2-0 Hamden shame in order for this change I can only imagine how bad it must have really been.

Let's leave the daft unimaginative nicknames where you take part of the surname and then add a Y at the end to sevco

Excellent when he came on, sitter aside. Another goal & again he shows he is our best forward. Anyone who thinks otherwise now is either deluded or at it.
