Reports are (predictably) suggesting that Bayern, RMadrid, Arsenal, etc., are all looking at our striker with the next transfer window in mind. Dermot Desmond states that we would not sell the big guy but...can we afford him ? If these clubs offer him £100k per week plus, we will not be able to match that kind of wage packet. Even half that would probably be beyond us. Much as I agree with DD's desire to keep him, especially as we wasted a lot of money looking for an option to Griffiths, it is not the size of the transfer fee that is the main problem. It is coming anywhere near to matching the wages that might be on offer.
Moussa is a very young man and may have no need at this time for a loadsadosh contract, enjoying as he obviously does the limelight and fan worship he receives but if/when he gets married and starts a family, his priorities will change. Our hope is that he continues to enjoy revelling in his sucess with us and puts "the big move" off for a few seasons.
We don't need to match those wages any time soon. He's under contract for years yet.

Dembele will move on at some point. We will make a profit and hopefully it will signal to other promising youngsters that Celtic can be a good place to further your careeer, get playing time at the top level (CL) and get noticed by the mega rich clubs in the the top european leagues.

Over time, if we continue to have a decent manager and attract others like Dembele we may find that we have the financial ability to hold on to the better players for a bit longer

voted again in the poll - only 120 odd off the lead

Dembele is under contract for four years, a contract that he has just signed, yet our sinister hun hacks are trying to turn his head with speculative stories about big money moves.

As for Dermot Desmond answering questions about him today, he should just shut his mouth and get on with his fecking golf.

Fulham fans take on Dembele.

Sorry, got to agree with Realistic here. If Fulham want to keep him, they do everything they can to do that. Everyone could see, at 19, what a massive prospect he was. The boy had everything, and stood out a mile in our dog shampoo side that was. Khan can keep him by offering the right salary, which would probably be less cost a week than the fuel and mooring on that effing ridiculous yacht he was parading up the Thames in. He wouldn't stay for 20k , right give him 30k, I bet that is more than he's on at Celtic Park. Khan wont spend the money though, because as he's demonstrated time and time again, he's a penny pinching pumpkin. But then again, what does Khan know ? He still shows very little hands on interest, and is interested only by Ali Macs spread sheet budget, which must NEVER show anything than profit at all costs. The bell end.

I doubt he moved here for the money.

He could have easily got more money elsewhere.

Reckon we will get this season and next out of him at the very least.

The money in the big leagues only seems to be getting higher and if Rodgers continues as he has started then by the time we get to the third season under his management we could well be heading towards an era that players want to be a part of for more than just money.

True , his wage is around 20k and I'm sure he could get double in the English championship :nono: however he also received 600k-ish signing on fee here which isn't to be sniffed at

He's probably negotiated a percentage of his sell on transfer fee too I imagine.

I'd be shocked if we was even on that much.

I'd have guessed 12-15 max.
