"This case is about safety and nothing else". So concerned was Matt for the safety of fellow supporters he waited 2 and 1/2 years for someone else to mention it. There's not a chance he's giving 55k to charity and I don't think his tweet suggests he is. There's 2 sides to this story and the fact court papers state: “It was [Mr McGlone’s] duty not to rush through rows of seating in the stadium." suggests to me that Matt was either clambering over rows or trying to rush through empty rows to reach another exit. He's had the opportunity to explain in greater detail. He's chosen not to do so.
Why should he have to explain in detail to you or anyone else? I'll be treating the club's version of events with the same scepticism you're treating McGlone's. Let the court decide and bitch about it then. No idea why McGlone should attract such flak. Would there be this furore if another supporter had put in a claim? I don't either. I suppose suing the club is always going to be contentious when your business is based on your support of the club but even then some folk at taking it a bit far.

Mate he is quite clealry stated/tweeted - "I have always fronted things up in my life. For those who wish to believe this £60,000 figure, I will give £55,000 to Bowel Cancer UK." Think thats pretty clear he is doanting £55k to a charity..you seem to suggest he is telling lies then up to you but he has stated the above word for word. TBH I don't really care about the issue one way or the other but I did find the wording of that tweet rather odd. Basically seems to read that the 60k figure is bollocks and if people wish to believe that figure then he would donate the 55k? It doesn't scan properly or make much sense.
It's his injury/life and his money (if he gets it) which he can do with as he pleases, just not 100% certain that tweet is him saying he is donating anything to charity.

I'd buy a 'Slipped on the coke and sued in Paradise' t-shirt if anyone makes one. Would be better than any of that cringey pish he comes out with. Nah...

Just saw the photos there. He's definitely taken a sore one. Looks like he's been glassed.
If the concrete is more slippy than it used to be, that should be dealt with if there's a risk of accidents. People don't just sit down or stand still and chuck their hat in the air at a goal.
Aside from that, I've no idea of the details other than what's been posted. Maybe if a Celtic employee slipped inside the building on a wet floor and burst their head open, they would claim compensation as well.
Club said he was rushing over seats to get out and it was his responsibility to watch where he was placing his feet. Sounds like he’s been stepping through empty rows instead of waiting in the queue If that is the case, would the club not have video footage? I know I have done that in the past and one wrong movement can or foot placement could lead to you looking stupid. However, if it is due to wet concrete and others have fallen then the club need to ensure that it doesn't happen again.

Not sure what the club can do if for example it’s in an area of the stadium that isn’t covered or for talking sake - someone spills a drink

The issue is about folk taking potshots at McGlone for having the audacity to put in a claim against the club. If you read my post again you'll see I've questioned what Matt has said on twitter. He makes out it's about health and safety - again his words not mine. I'm asking why he didn't disclose this to his fellow fans. He didn't need to go into his own details. He could have campaigned to ensure "The flooring along the row meets the minimum slip resistance value considered by the UK Health and Safety Executive as necessary to provide a safe floor environment" as outlined in his claim. Matt has a fanzine and a twitter profile that could have campaigned for these standards to be met. 3 1/2 years after the incident Matt chose not to do this. Matt has now chosen not to give further details.
Matt also said "The figures quoted are fanciful" before others later misinterpreted him as going to donate £55k to charity.

Some people really do have an issue with Matt
So the SMSM put out a story to discredit something to do with Celtic and we get the usual jumping on the bandwagon
Matt keeping it in the background for whatever reason is the best approach as now it can be seen what happens when it's out in the open - 'let's shoot him down'. It may be that Matt has been trying to push this as a safety issue in the background for the last few years, but others within CFC have been reluctant to agree with this and the only way to force their hand is to make it official. 60k is peanuts in the grand scheme of things, but some people think Matt is trying to make money out of this - if it was 600k then I would agree, but 60k
No doubt I'll probably get shot down for my comments above, but the fact people want to jump on the bandwagon after an article by the SMSM who we all know are trustworthy with the truth, and always put out articles with positivity re CFC - really

With the parking restrictions happening, whats the chances of the team building a multi story carpark similar to what NFL teams have? Is there space for one? Would probably make the club some decent money since fans will have nowhere else to park.

In answer to your question, we don’t have the kind of money that would allow us to do that, and there is very little chance of return from a car park basically used 20 ish days a year.
