I would have liked us to take a couple of days and then respond. The way it was reported in media it almost came across as a joint decision . If we had come out and said we note Sevcos actions and will respond soon type statement , then it would have been very clear they instigated it. The inevitable reciprocation could have waited a little .
What difference would it make to 'wait a little'?

Sevco reduced our capacity. At that moment it was absolutely inevitable that Celtic would have to reciprocate, so it's completely irrelevant how long the club waited to do it.

There's no logic to what you're saying.

My reasons were given. So it was very clear it was Sevco who instigated it as I feel the media have portrayed it as a joint decision.

I didn't ask what your reasons were for waiting, I asked what difference waiting would have made.

If we had waited a day or so before reciprocating, what difference would it have made to the current situation?

Probably none but my point is we would have avoided the situation were it was reported as a joint decision.

It wasn't reported anywhere, that I saw, as a joint decision.

They made the decision. We replied. The fact our reply was out that quickly meant we were prepared for it and are probably delighted about it.

I don't know if it was reported as a joint decision in any outlet as the reports I read made it pretty clear it was sevco that initiated this. Also, only in my experience by the way, everybody who is interested in football and this story knows what happened. All the folk I know, not all Tims, have slagged off the huns for their clubs behaviour.

This didn't appear from nowhere. The campaign to have us moved from the Broomloan has been going on for ages. The club will have prepared for the eventuality of Sevco needing to give their fans a bone and will have had made their decision on what to do a long time before they made their statement.

BBC headline on the day was "Rangers and Celtic ban away fans." Evening times were reporting it as Rangers and Celtic pettyness. The perception was we both did it together.

People are concerned about the timing of when we release a statement?

Well seen it's post-season

I was a little miffed at the headlines , they couldn't handle the pumpings we were giving them etc and decided to go down this route . The emphasis on it being their doing was diluted. The reaon it was happening was soley down to Sevco and not some sort of joint decision on what was best for each of our fans.

Celtic can't be expected to predict what spin the newspapers will put on the story. All we know for certain is that - no matter how long we waited to reciprocate - the papers would have found a way to paint us in a bad light regardless.

Eff them. We do things our way as and when it suits us.

Well, we both did it in the end. Everyone knows why we did it. We had no choice after their idiotic decision. That's the top and tail of it.

Just a few points.

It will free up a couple of thousand unused seats for Celtic fans.

It will probably reduce our policing/stewarding costs.

The few hundred remaining huns will have a seriously restricted view.

John Greig is still a bastard.

What's not to like?

I can see a scenario with them offering the Broomloan back to us next season when the Gerrard moonbeam ends and they can only sell 35k or so season books.

If they offer the tickets back we could take them but keep them reduced to their new allocation.

Another strategical master stroke.

This could possibly be why our board reciprocated so swiftly? Stops the Huns being told they can't by police, SFA, whatever and blaming it on I don't know, Neil Lennon, say.

This way, if they do indeed get told they cant do it then tough titty, we can and we will :)

See when the Gerrard moonbeam end, they’ll just appoint some other diddy and the gullible idiots will be back on the bandwagon.
