======
CELTIC will install a spectacular state-of-the-art light and sound show as part of a massive £4million stadium investment.

The champions’ bosses will spend £2.3million on a stunning entertainment system similar to those used in Ajax’s Amsterdam ArenA – which will be renamed the Johan Cruyff Arena next season – and Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena to create an amazing spectacle for top-level games.

The multi-million upgrade will make Celtic Park one of Europe’s elite venues.

The club will also complete the final £1.3million outlay for the installation of their new hybrid playing surface, as required by manager Brendan Rodgers.

With other works having been undertaken on lounges, external areas and stadium roofing, the champions will have completed a £4million upgrade on their base before the start of the new season.
======

I like this idea a lot.

Sounds fantastic. Was this not being discussed a few weeks back on here? Don't think Paul has had a scoop in a long time and I remember reading something about Ajax and the Allianz recently.

Take it this is separate news from what you were hinting at fatboab?

Does the new pitch increase the likelihood of us hosting concerts? The sound and lighting systems would surely be attractive to concert organisers as it would allow them to keep the costs down in comparison to hosting a gig at Hampden or Murrayfield.

It's a different thing altogether. Still trying to find out anything else re what I posted. No luck thus far.

As for the lights, hopefully they'll look the the Borussia Moenchnebb Borrussia Munchenoe German stadium we were in eighteen months back.

Really need to sort the fans area, I heard a bit about that online somewhere - similar to Man City.
I know Scotland holds us back in terms of licensing etc.. So it takes a long time, but we've seen great successes despite ~Scotland, safe standing etc..
Looking good.

Will it be able to play reruns of old games with holograms of the old players on the pitch?

4m quid on the park? Rather we got a right back or a Centre half instead of fancy effing lights.

From Amsterdam.

Looks like we've gone from guiding in the Luftwaffe to communicating with the aliens.

You're right. There's no way two things can be accomplished at the same time.

:thumbsup: hopefully more good stuff to come then.

Watching that vid and the Ajax lights actually make the Europa League look pretty sexy, clearly Peter's plan is to have us make believe we're in the CL when we're not.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Aside from the SFA not putting us forward, I'm sure the CL Final can only be played at 80,000+ stadia now.
Pretty sure thats not true but for any european final now believe it or not you need a closed off bus entrance like the underground ones you see at wembley etc.

Don't you also need to be nominated by your association? Not much chance of that.

It's true. But if we end this window with the same glaring deficiencies in the squad that were evident at the end of the previous two, £2.3 million on cosmetic stuff will start to look a lot like money squandered.

I'm not sure the atmosphere on European nights really needs artificial improvement anyway. Nothing will beat those moments when the first few notes of the CL anthem ring out around the stadium, only to be swallowed up by the roar of the crowd seconds later.

Edit. 2.3 million, not 4. Didn't read the piece properly. I'm all for spending good money to improve the pitch, but 2.3 is still a hefty sum for the other stuff.

Hopefully this is a AI led business & is improving exponentially :suspect:
Certainly doesn't look worth £2.3m to me.
A "Light Show"? Seriously?

Hopefully things have moved on a fair bit since Ajax installed theirs, cos that's not very impressive for £2.3m.
