The irony is that this is the kind of stuff Murray trotted out to deflect from failure..... Miss out on the ten? We're gonna have one team for domestic and one for Europe. Celtic sign a six million quid striker? Here's the 12 million quid superstar.... For every fiver......

Strategically, we putting LIGHT YEARS between us and their fetid corpse of a club. I think this started in 2008 with Manchester and they then did the one decent thing in their history and liquidated. We've finally cut the cord and their rancid dead weight is no longer holding us back.

CS Lewis spoke of his Christ analogue, Aslan the Lion, as being so bright and true that he made everything else look shadowy and pale. This is what I want Celtic to do.... Show up Murray and his ilk as the charlatans they always were and deliver a club we can all be proud of. I want players queuing up for the chance to play in the Hoops, opponents raving about the stadium and fans.

Celtic aren't actually going to be taking £18m out of the bank to pay for this.
No but we could if we wanted :chuffed:

If this becomes a regular and viable income stream for us it'd further drive that gap between us and the rest. Espanyolification is coming along nicely.

just went on a mad rant to my mate who thinks this is a terrible idea as it'll be a drain on resource.

just went on a mad rant to my mate who thinks this is a terrible idea as it'll be a drain on resource.

This is a valid point, look what happened to Kilmarnock and the hotel they built. The income wasn't as good as they'd hoped so the debt repayments started to eat into football operations and the debt spiralled upwards.

However, I trust the board to structure the deal in such a way that it doesn't become a millstone.

General visitors to the area, corporate events and private functions.

It's a busy place and it's not cheap. Will be a good source of revenue for them. Or rather, was. They sold it to wipe out their bank debt.

Was it not Bill Costley who ran it. He's a big Killie fans and owned the likes of the Lochgreen in Troon ? If thats not the case then happy to stand corrected.

The income from that actually kept them going for a while, and as pointed out above they eventually sold it to wipe out their debt completely.
